Disappointing college life experience.
Placements: College does not provide good placement opportunities, and reputed companies do not visit the campus. Companies like TCS and Cognizant visit our college, claiming mass recruitment, but they don't follow and offer only 3 LPA. Internships are also not provided. From our batch, only 6 out of 60 students secured placements this year.
Infrastructure: College does not allow students to use the Wi-Fi. There are no air-conditioned facilities. Labs are well-equipped. Facilities like the library, hostel, canteen, and sports facilities are good. College conducts sports week every year, which is the only good thing. Medical facilities are not available on campus.
Faculty: Some teachers are highly knowledgeable, while others can't even speak English properly. A few teachers provide helpful notes and suggestions, while others focus more on politics with students. They also provide suggestions and good marks only to their favorite students. They conduct one-semester exam, one class test, and a surprise test per semester.

Rupam's Biotechnology Review .
Placements: The present percentage of students placed is approximately 85%. The highest package is 16 LPA and the average package is 4-5 LPA. The lowest package is 2 LPA. Top requirements of companies are TCS, Labvantage, Nestle, etc. The percentage of students who get internships is 15% with a stipend.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are very good. In every lab, there is AC, and on every floor, there are 3-4 Wi-Fi connections. Classrooms are also good. There is no boys' hostel, but there is a girls' hostel. There are two canteens; food quality is good, and prices are reasonable. Many types of sports occur on the college campus.
Faculty: The faculty is also good. Every teacher helps us at every step. They have enough knowledge, and they teach us very friendly. In this course, students are ready to work in the industry. The difficulty level of the semester exam is medium. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: Actually, I like genetically modified organisms. Here, I can learn more about this, and the best thing is after I'm taught, I can go for scientific research. There is no improvement needed in our course. The bad thing is there is no annual function from 2018-2024. Many scholarships are available like WBFS, Svmcms, TFW, etc.

The quality of education in our college is good and placements are also good.
Placements: Around 70% of students got placed from our college in our course. The lowest salary package is 3 LPA, and the highest salary package is 7 LPA. Top roles offered in this course are research intern, microbiologist, pharmaceutical manufacturer, and DNA analyst. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, Infosys, Apollo Tyres, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very airy. Wi-Fi is not available in classrooms. Almost all sports are available in our college. Food is available at reasonable prices in our canteen. The food available in our college hostel is quite good, and rooms in our hostel are quite filthy.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. This course is relevant, and many alumni have got jobs in top companies. Students are made industry-ready in this course. Semester exams are not too difficult in our college. The pass percentage is about 80%. Their teaching quality is good.
Other: I love both biology and technology, so I chose this course. Everything is good in this course. Many sports are available in our college.

It is a good college and students should try hard if want to leave a mark in the department.
Placements: Most peers interested to continue with biotech had pursued higher studies. There were no core placements, and students were placed in the IT sector. The top recruiting companies were TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, DXC, etc. Placements should not be a priority if students want to pursue this department, try GATE, or aim for a foreign university.
Infrastructure: This college provides great departmental infrastructure. It provides a good infrastructure for wet laboratories. The campus size was big but shares with a heritage school. All departmental laboratories were air conditioned. The boys' hostel was available, and it was average.
Faculty: Most of the teachers were knowledgeable though they had their own biases. The teaching quality was average. The course curriculum was better because HITK was an autonomous institute. Consistent top rankers in GATE from department. Semester exams should be easy if attendance and assignments were worked on diligently.
Other: The campus life was good. The quality of students was also good. The scope for participating in inter-college events was also good.

Absolutely satisfied because of good faculty and placements .
Placements: The placement in our college is pretty decent. We have got IT companies like TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Wipro, Accenture and core companies like ZIFO. All over it is very good. Moreover, during our course, college faculty members ensured that we get groomed properly for our upcoming placement sessions. Almost 90% of our students get placed or pursue higher studies .
Infrastructure: Hostel and college infrastructure is no doubt very good. Proper care is taken during labs and safety in hostels is well maintained. Food quality is also decent. Superb scientific labs during undergraduate and even postgraduate courses help us reach our goal pretty easily.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and patient. Extra care is taken for comparatively weaker students. Teachers are themselves qualified, and they make sure the students do not face any kind of difficulty in achieving what they are aiming for. The grooming sessions definitely make the students industry ready.
Other: I have always been interested in pursuing biotechnology because I find myself engrossed while studying the genetic and cellular mechanisms going on in our human body. And our teachers perfectly helped us in achieving our aim. The fest and other events are very enthralling.

No, passing Class 12 grades alone won't get you into Heritage Institute of Technology's B.Tech. Biotechnology programme; qualifying scores on entrance tests like WBJEE or JEE Main are more important. Although not the only requirement for admission, class 12 grades are significant for eligibility. Ma

No, mathematics is not compulsory for biotechnology. The knowledge of biology and chemistry will be sufficient for this course. Although in the first three semesters, you will have to study biology as one of the subjects. But don't worry, that will be taught in the classroom. Best of luck.

During WBJEE counselling, only your WBJEE rank and your total percentage of class 12th boards is considered. Your maths marks will not be considered individually.

Hi Shruti, To get admission in Heritage, you can go either for WBJEE or JEE mains. They accept the score of both the entrance. However, if you have not appeared in any of these exams, then you can get admission through management quota directly. The eligibility criteria is 60 percent marks in class

Yes, for biotechnology you need to have a background in physics, chemistry and biology. You seem to have studied these subjects so you are eligible to pursue biotechnology.
