Excellent facilities and research opportunities but limited corporate placements.
Placements: The placements in the Botany are not corporate driven. The students opt for internship in research institutes like CSIR, IARI and ICAR etc. Some students prefer research projects available in the college itself. The package for internship varies with each research institute.
Infrastructure: Hindu college offers a set of facilities and infrastructure. The whole campus of Hindu college have Wifi connection with good connectivity. Sometimes the connection is poor. The labs are equipped with instruments like microscope, spectrophotometer and other reagents, etc. The classrooms are spacious and have smart boards, projectors and black boards. Each classroom has AC facilities. The library is well stocked with books, journals etc. Hindu college have separate hostels for boys and girls . The hostel were very well equipped with all necessary facilities. The food available in the mess and canteen was very tasty and of nice quality. It is also affordable. The college has medical rooms also separately for boys as well as girls. The college has a big sports complex where all sports and games are played.
Faculty: All the teachers in the botany department were very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They prefer well-authorised books and research papers for teaching. The teaching quality was very good. The course curriculum is relevant. The 3-year duration course has 6 semesters which cover all subjects of plant biology. It makes the student industry-ready. The semester exams are not at all difficult. If one pays attention in class, then it's sufficient to pass the exams. The pass percentage is 100%.
Other: I chose the course because plants fascinate me . The best thing about the course is that it makes students understand better in all aspects of plant biology. More research projects for students can improve the course more. There are various societies present in the Hindu college like Sanjeevni (for plants), Aria-The western music society, Srijya - Choreography society ,Vagmi etc. They have their own events weekly. There is one main fest of Hindu college i.e. Mecca . This fest is very large and a huge crowd gathers on this day. There are various scholarships available for students like Premvati Raghubir Singh scholarship, R.B. Ram kisan das scholarship etc.

Top-notch faculty with a good educational environment and the campus life is also really good.
Placements: In this course, students usually go for post-graduation to have a comparatively high salary. Usually, the average placement salary is 5–6 LPA. If you want to go into the private job market, you can have a much higher package with your experience using these internships.
Infrastructure: A very good infrastructure with highly spacious classrooms and good-quality microscopes. Canteen food is okay, but sports and other facilities are also really good. The boys hostel is under construction and the library is also well equipped with books and disciplined staff.
Faculty: Well-educated, highly qualified teachers are there. It also makes the students industry-ready. End-of-semester exams are easy to pass if you have studied throughout the semester and the passing percentage is 100 percent. And the curriculum of course is also very relevant.
Other: Mecca is the second-largest fest of the whole Delhi university.

A good place that teaches you about life.
Placements: The percentage of students who get placed is a little low because only a few students opt for placement. I don't know about the highest placing, but I have seen people get placed of 10-15 Lacs in fields like investment banking and consulting. Top recruiters in our college were BCG, Brain & Company, Deloitte, PWC, Accenture, JP Morgan, Nomura, UBS, Credit Suisse, and many others. And, if we talk about internships, only a few students from a course like B.Com Statistics mathematics and economics departments get placed for internships. And most of the companies that give internship offers are the one that comes for final placements. I come from a Biology background, and students from our course rarely sit for placement because some go for Masters's and some for government exams preparations.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. The new building that is being built now is much better than other buildings. Our college has Wi-Fi, but If you want Wi-Fi with good internet speed, you will have to go to the library. The classrooms are decent, and the library is fine. The hostel is also good, and Room is average. You will get good food in a hostel, and if you are a non-hosteler, you can also go and have lunch, but for that, you have to take a slip of around 60-80 rupees. But if you are bored by messy food, then the canteen is always a good choice. For sports, we have a large playground. We have a basketball court, a volleyball court, and a gym.
Faculty: You can't question the qualifications of a teacher at Hindu College. We have teachers that are well-known for their work and knowledge. The teaching quality is good. If we talk about curriculum relevance, each course is a plan for different purposes. I graduated with a botany subject, but the problem with this course is that most students don't want to continue in this field after graduation. Semester exams are not difficult at all. You can study for the day before the exam and still get decent marks. We have a grading system, and passing marks is 4 CGPA.
Other: I graduated from botany, I told you before. The majority of the people who join this course are the ones who could not clear the NEET exam. So we want to do graduate & Biology was our favorite subject, so we joined this course. And the best thing about this course is that it is easy and fascinating. Most of the students that join this course regret choosing this course, so those students have the flexibility of doing something else or something that could prepare them for the industry. Our college is located on the north campus, and the crowd you can see there is so diverse because we have many Colleges around. Every college has its fests, and the name of our fest is Mecca, one of the most popular fests in DU. From time to time, our college organizes various events. Every department also organizes its departmental fest in March and April.

Hindu College, Delhi University.
Placements: Placement is pretty low. But being a Hindu college student helps a lot in future research and studies. Many students aim to study abroad. And off-campus internships are commonly done. As for the package, it depends on what and where the job is the rest always depends on your effort.
Infrastructure: The Science laboratory, equipment, and samples/material are very well provided and are of -good quality. College also provides proper Wi-Fi but its signal gets weak and unusable at some places on campus. Almost all class in the Science block is fitted with a projector each. There's a huge college library where almost every type of rex]source is available related to any course. And of course, there are two huge reading rooms also. Hostels are awesome, it's hard to get in as it's only limited seats, and residents of Delhi NCR aren't allowed. The mess provides top-quality food.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and creative modes of teaching like ppts and charts are often used. Due to recent changes I n the course and the addition of new topics the pressure feels a bit high. Semester exams hit pretty hard but the pass percentage is almost 100%.
Other: Choosing this course was absolutely a personal choice since I excel in Biology. And the best thing about it is that the process is enjoyable rather than feeling pressured. The only thing that I wished to be improved is the gap in communication between the faculty and student which happen sometimes. And the college is jam-packed with educational events and fests all around the calendar.

I am satisfied with its professors, infrastructure, and placements are moderate.
Placements: Placements were not good enough in botany honors as compared to other courses like B.Com honors and economics. However, some companies hire botany students but the field of work will be different. Apart from that, students can do M.Sc. easily after graduation from Hindu College.
Infrastructure: This course provides all facilities of the microscope and different species of plants. The hostel was available for boys and girls. Students will see DNA blending machines and specimens of vertebrates. All experimental equipment was also available like a beaker, slide, and forceps.
Faculty: Faculty members were cooperative, especially Anuradha Sharma i.e HOD. Exams were moderate level, and it conducts botanical trips every year. Students can score more than 70% after reading the previous 10-years question papers in the exam. Faculty members were the best in DU.
Other: I opted for this course, because I am fond of plants. I love to know more about different species of flora. This botany department of Hindu college was already one of the best all over India. There was an annual botanical fest as well named Sanjeevni. The campus crowd was the best at DU, and the metro was near. The bus stop was just outside of campus. Scholarships were not available as the fee structure was already nominal. There was a botanical garden for extracurricular activities.

Q:   Does Hindu College has good placement for BSc Chem hons?
ShikshaGPT says
A:
Placement is not a function of your course but more of how well you prepare for it in your first two years. Hindu college has some top-notch consulting, PR, investment banking, media companies hiring every year. You are required to have some prior internship experience with meaningful work, good communication skills, active participation in extra-curriculars, analytical/problem-solving skills, and decent academics. With these skill sets and some prior preparation for the interview, any company can be cracked. The college is great for placements, given you focus on it right from the start.
