As per official information, the eligibility criteria for BDes at IIT Guwahati course admission 2024 is through UCEED exam conducted by IIT Bombay. A candidate can attempt UCEED for a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. However, the candidate should have passed in all subjects in Class 12 or equivalent exam in 2023, or the candidate should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2024. The total tuition fee for M.Tech ranges between INR 1.1 Lacs - INR 1.7 lakh for Regular/QIP Students/Self-financed/Sponsored Students (Part-time/Full-time) who are serving as Teachers. The selection of candidates for the MDes programme offered at IIT Guwahati is based on the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) conducted as a part of the central admission procedure. In addition to this, MDes aspirants need to clear the Design Aptitude Test (conducted at DoD, ITG for shortlisted candidates based on CEED) followed by a personal interview and portfolio evaluation. IIT Guwahati offers three specialisations under the two-year MSc programme with a seat intake of 180. The institute offers the MSc programme in Chemistry, Mathematics & Computing, and Physics with a seat intake of 60 per specialisation. Admission to all these courses is done through a common process. Candidates are selected based on scores of IIT JAM entrance exam, followed by a round of counselling.

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2026 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2026 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results.

For the SC category students under the AI quota, the JEE Advanced cutoff ranks varied between 183 and 2080 for core branches, including CSE, ECE, Civil, Chemical, etc. For the core branches, mostly the cutoffs are on the higher side for admission. Candidates seeking admission to core branches must target securing a cutoff rank of up to 2000 to improve their chances of admission at IIT Guwahati. IIT Guwahati UCEED cutoff 2025 has been initiated with the release of the round 1 of the cutoff list. As per the cutoff released, the cutoff rank for OBC AI category candidates was closed at 44. Therefore, candidates belonging to the OBC AI category must have a rank of 44 or below to get a sea at BDes in IIT Guwahati. In 2024 and 2023, the cutoff rank for the same category stood at 46 and 42, respectively in the first round. This shows a fluctuating trend in the cutoff rank since the past three years.

Considering the IIT Guwahati JAM cutoff 2025 for the Round 4 seat allotment, an IIT JAM rank of 300 is commendable, but it depends on the branch and category whether you will get admission to IIT Guwahati or not. For the candidates belonging to the General AI quota, a 300 rank would not fetch any course as the General All India category cutoffs are ranging between 61 and 265, so, candidates need to score at least 265 rank to secure any seat at IIT Guwahati. IIT Guwahati accepts the CEED exam for admission to the MDes course. 

IIT Guwahati MDes cutoff 2024 is based on CEED scores 2024 followed by the round-wise CEED Counselling. IIT Guwahati CEED cutoff 2024 is out for Part A.
