To seek admission to the BTech programme offered at IIT Madras, candidates need to visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and fill out the application form in online mode for JEE Main. For other courses such as MSc, MTech, BS-MS (Dual Degree) etc., candidates must visit the official website of the respective national-level entrance exam conducting bodies and fill out the application form in online mode. The overall the highest package for the academic year 2022-23 stood at INR 1.31 crore per annum and was grabbed by UG students (BTech, DD, and IDDD). IIT Madras admissions are entrance exam based. Candidates need to clear the National-level entrance exams for admissions to various courses. For MBA admissions, candidates should have a valid CAT score to appear for CAT Counselling. Based on IIT Madras cut off for MBA, candidates can get admission as per their corresponding rank. IIT Madras BTech cutoff 2025 has been released for Round 1, wherein, B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering is the most competitive specialsiation with a closing rank of 171 for the General AII India category students. The least competitive course is B.Tech. in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering with a cutoff rank of 6926. So, candidates seeking admission to any of the BTech course must secure a rank upto 171 to be eligible for IIT Madras 

IIT Madras admissio to the BTech course is based on JEE Advanced scores, followed by JoSAA counselling process. 

The institute has released branch-wise salary data for BTech and M.Tech courses. As per the report, the highest package offered to BTech, DD, and IDDD students from CSE was INR 1.31 crore per annum and for M.Tech CSE, the highest package stood at INR 54.21 LPA. No, JEE exams are not mandatory for BSc admissions at IIT Madras. Candidates who wish to take admissions into the BSc course at IIT Madras must appear for IISER entrance examination. The admissions into IIT Madras BSc courses are decided on merit basis where, the scores obtained by candidates in the IISER entrance exam are taken into account to decide the admissions.

No, one does not have to apply separately at IIT Madras website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs. Shortlisted students who get a seat through the JoSAA counselling, simply need to report for document verification and pay the acceptance fees. All the details of the students will be forwarded to IIT Madras by JoSAA directly. Information about the orientation, fee payment, and hostel allocation will be mailed online.
