Great ROI with decent placements, helpful faculty, and strong campus life at IET Lucknow.
Placements: Placement in our college is decent. Around 60% of students got placed. The highest package was around 12 LPA, with an average of about 5 to 6 LPA. Companies like Hero, Tata Motors, L & T, and others visited. Some seniors also got IT jobs after self-preparation. Internships were mostly self-applied for, but 50% were secured through training at BHEL, railways, or private firms. Core roles like production, quality, and design were offered. Overall, the college's highest packages are 49 LPA (On Campus) and 1. 1.2 crores (Off Campus).
Infrastructure: Mechanical engineering has good facilities, including the Thermal, CNC, SOM labs, and a large workshop. Most equipment is functional, but maintenance is needed. Classrooms are basic yet decent. Wi-Fi works reasonably well. Hostel rooms are 4- sharing in the first year, 2- sharing in the second year, and single rooms afterward. Mess food is average, but the canteen is better. Washrooms need improvement. The playground and sports facilities are good. A new indoor stadium is under construction. The medical room is available 24/7.
Faculty: Most faculty members are helpful and well-qualified. They teach using notes, PPTs, and real-life examples. Some are strict, but overall okay. The syllabus is balanced, covering thermal, design, and automation topics. There's a focus on both theory and labs. Exams are moderate; studying regularly makes passing easy. The pass percentage is high. Attendance is important, especially in labs. Internal marks depend on assignments and viva.
Other: I chose IET Lucknow because it is a reputed government college with a good ROI and decent placement records. The best features are its green campus, supportive alumni network, and active student clubs. I hope the college improves hostel facilities and establishes more startup partnerships. Scholarships like those from the UP government and other merit-based programs are available. The campus environment is peaceful and safe. If you stay focused and utilize resources effectively, placements and growth are achievable. It's a good place for serious students who want to learn and grow on a budget.

Infrastructure is old, but good. It has value for money and is good for the students.
Placements: Placement cell is good as all the students get their chance to sit in the placement cell. There are no restrictions. Students with backlogs in any subject or attendance shortage can also sit for placements. The average salary package offered ranges between 4 LPA - 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The quality of food is average. It is not for spicy food lovers. The quality of hostel rooms is average. There will always be some problems. But it's fun here to live as there are less restrictions. The building is old and kind of dirty. There are atleast 4 persons in a room.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and are respected for their respective jobs. Teaching skills are good. It is good for students who want to practice for government exams and do M.Tech in the future. Semester exams are not as tough as they are checked in college itself.

It is the number 1 college of AKTU.
Placements: Placements in this college are average in my course. About 60% of students got placed in the 2026 batch. In B. Tech, the highest package in on-campus placements is 49 LPA and in off-campus placements, it is 1.2 crore per annum. Top recruiting companies like Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Slice, Zomato, etc., visit the college for placements. The internship ratio is better in IET.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are best in my department. The mechanical engineering department has a newly designed building, a library, the best classrooms, etc. The first-year hostel is best and after that hostel for 3rd year and final-year students is good. Food quality is best in all the above hostels. Sports and games are happening every semester.
Faculty: In IET Lucknow, teachers are qualified and have higher degrees from IITs. Teaching quality is overall good, not bad. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students ready for the industries. The difficulty level of end-semester exams in this college is average and not very tough.
Other: I am interested in mechanical engineering so I chose this course. I dream of my self to becomes a good mechanical engineer and working at ISRO in the future. The best thing about this course is it is a fully practical branch in which we can see how machines work and many more things that we can analyse. Lab should be improved in my college but it is still good not bad. In IET, Encore is the biggest fest in AKTU. Scholarships are also provided here.

B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IET.
Placements: The placements in Mechanical branch are fine. TATA motors, Mahindra, Indian oil, etc. come for placements and internships. Most of the students get placed in their core branches and join startups for a better career growth. Students get 4LPA to 15 LPA according to the company and the positions they get selected for.
Infrastructure: The college campus is very well maintained with greenery and a peaceful environment. Wi-Fi Facility is available in the campus and in the classes also. Library has sufficient books for the students and faculty along with the latest patterns available. Labs are important for the mechanical branch as we need to do all the experiments and practicals with the machines. All the necessary machinery is available in the Workshop.
Faculty: The course is relevant and knowledgeable as it follows AICTE standards. The teachers are well qualified and have mMasters degrees in their particular subjects. The course makes the students industry ready for the upcoming technologies. In the exams, the students need to clear concepts to get good marks along with having a good writing and elaboration skills.

This college is good and the best in terms of return on investment.
Placements: The previous year, the highest domestic salary package offered was 47 LPA, and the average package was 8.2 LPA. The top recruiting companies are VE Commercial Vehicles, Humming Wave Technologies, TCS, Hero Fincorp., Mahindra Finance, BEL, etc. The percentage of students who got placed is 71 %.
Infrastructure: The mechanical department has a new building which is the best part of this college. There are labs and workshops like CAD lab, Welding shop, etc. The library is well-equipped with Wi-Fi. There are 13 hostels on campus of which 9 are boys hostels and 4 are girls hostels.
Faculty: The department faculties of the mechanical branch are quite helpful and supportive. They are experts in their domain and well-educated from well-recognised universities like IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is well structured as well. There are two mid-sem exams named CT-1 and CT-2. The difficulty of exams is that you can easily pass if studying 10 days before exams.
Other: Admission to this course is based on JEE Mains rank followed by a counseling of UPSEE. Anyone with a rank between 50,000 to 1,00,000 must select this college. It is an autonomous college under AKTU. It is ranked 1 college among all 700 colleges. The annual cultural fest is "Encore". There is also a scholarship from UP Government.

Getting IET at this rank is not possible as your rank is too high. For that, I'll prefer you to opt any other govt college or if you want IET only then you can wait till the spot round of the counselling.

Sorry, you cannot get admission in IET, Lucknow. You can try in IERT-Allahabad, JSS-Noida, KIET, AKG or ABESEC.
But I will suggest you to go for the every round of counselling.

I would like to tell you that IET is one of the most reputed colleges for engineering in UPTU. I don't think with this rank you would be able to get admission in IET. You can check the last year's cut-off also, but yes, you can get admission in other government colleges, all you have to do is check

Your chances of getting a government college are almost nil so try for some private colleges like IILM, Lloyd, etc.
