Miranda House: An experience of a lifetime.
Placements: Miranda House has an excellent placement committee, that works hard to bring good companies and a good package for its students. It played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between students and the corporate world. The committee has brought in a diverse range of recruiters across sectors such as finance, consulting, marketing, and IT. Their efforts in organizing pre-placement talks, skill development workshops, and mock interviews have significantly enhanced students' employability and confidence.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure at Miranda House is top-notch, considering the amount of fees. Library is fully technologically upgraded. There are computer labs for students to use. Braille is used in all places for an inclusive structure. Classrooms have ACs and projectors.
Faculty: Course curriculum is relevant, however, NEP has made college life more hectic with irrelevant courses like skill enhancement courses and value addition courses. Teachers that recruit are super resourceful and fun to engage with. However, the new recruiters are not that helpful and lack polishing.

Miranda House: A Second Home.
Placements: My course is of non-placement background, so I don't have information about this, but the Science department at Miranda is very good, and I have heard of many placements in it. Like in the Economics department, many companies came, and students do get placement offers.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in the college and in good condition. The labs are excellent, classrooms are big, and the library, although not that fascinating, is also good. The hostel at Miranda is the best; though I'm not residing there, I have heard about it from the hostellers.
Faculty: Professors are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable without a single doubt. The course curriculum is NEP and is followed really well in Miranda. Semester exams are good, with good management. In my course, or overall in DU, the pass percentage is 3-4 SGPA, as far as I know.

Amazing crowd and a vast array of opportunities.
Placements: As a Humanities course, there are no to very low placements in History Hons. The placement record for other market-related courses is very high though. You can get higher study options for abroad instead. Students getting internships were getting as museum curators or in other fields.
Infrastructure: Facilities: The campus infra is great as a government college. Wi-Fi is there but it works only at a few places. There are two Digital Resource Centers for students to access computers. The library has a large number of books from various subjects, a system to access audiobooks and find books in the library, and enough study space for students. Classrooms are not air-conditioned. There are four canteens in the college with quality food at affordable prices. The college has hostel facilities, but it's not for everyone as the seats are limited, so it is given only on marks basis. Reserved seats are also in the allotment of the hostel. The sports facilities are really great, and all major sports are there to practice with coaches.
Faculty: The faculty is really helpful and well-behaved. Only half of them are Ph.D. and others are assistant professors. Some of them are also doing research work. Most of them are good at teaching and assessment. The course curriculum with optional subjects is better than other universities in India. It is however not related to the job opportunities in the subjects. The semester exams are relatively easier, and most of the students manage to get good CGPA in exams.
Other: Bachelors in History Hons. is a great course for me as it was in the subject I loved to study. This course prepares me for research in the future and also for the UPSC Civil Services examination if I choose this as my optional subject in the exam. It can be better if they link it with job opportunities in History itself and also make the curriculum related to the competitive exams in India, as most of the students go for it after graduation. There are a lot of events and small fests going on in the college throughout the year. There are loads of opportunities for all. In the fest season of February and March, a lot of college and society fests take place with a large footfall. The campus crowd is diverse and extremely amazing though. Scholarship opportunities are a few, but if you really research thoroughly, you can find some good ones.

Good for liberal arts students.
Placements: I think most of the students from economics, math, etc. get placed. However, for those from liberal arts and sciences, getting placements is a bit difficult. Being a part of the placement cell, I know that they work really hard to help us land internships and placements, but that's just how the market works. Nevertheless, the highest package in the 2024 session was 19 LPA, and it was a political science honors student that got the placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, and the library is also really good, but the books that we really need are many times not available because someone has already taken them. Still, it's better than many other colleges. They've also installed ACs in the auditorium and 2nd floor classrooms now. Medical facilities are just basic paracetamol and band-aid stuff. Other than that, the hostel facility is also good, keeping in mind the fees. The food is just fine, and there are no ACs or coolers allowed in the hostel.
Faculty: The curriculum has changed a lot because of NEP. We have to spend 4 hours for sec, vac uselessly while there are constant deductions from the syllabus of our core subjects. The sec, vac teachers literally don't teach anything useful, and there's nothing good to be taught in them either. The exams are fine; look at the PYQs and prepare questions accordingly. Faculty is, I guess, good when it comes to history. I honestly like professors who are serious about what they're teaching rather than those who come to classes just for the sake of it. But my experience with political science faculty (which is my GE) has not been that good.

Good opportunities for extracurriculars and internships.
Placements: As I am still in the first year of my college. I don't have much information about the placements. However, there is a placement cell in the college that helps in providing placements to students. Only top students are admitted to the CUET exam. Many internship opportunities are offered in WhatsApp groups which are good for a student.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities provided in the college are quite good. We have a 2 story library loaded with books about every subject. We have a DRC in library which has computers. However, there are no ACs in college rooms which makes it difficult in summers. The whole college has Wi-Fi connectivity however it works in certain areas. Classrooms are not more than what we would expect from a government college while paying Rs. 15,000 as yearly fees. Labs are in pretty good condition and have air conditioning.
Faculty: Faculty members are very well-experienced and are very helpful. Especially, Srimanjari Mam takes care of the Hindi medium students as well. They give excellent lectures. However, sometimes it gets difficult to understand them but we usually catch up. Teaching is verbal with no smart boards. Course curriculum does not make students industry-ready but as we are history students we are provided with the knowledge we are supposed to know about the events. Semester exams are very easy and predictable. One can easily pass the exams even if we study only for 2 days. Pass percentage 40%.
Other: Campus life is pretty engaging as many events happen every week and students are also very supportive. College is a walking distance from Vishwavidhyalaya metro station and auto and e-rickshaws are also available. If one is fine with spending Rs. 40 every day to save walking time.

Q:   Can I get direct admission in Miranda House?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

Admission to all the courses offered by Miranda House is entrance-based. While Miranda House accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, such as BA, BSc and BCom, admission to all the PG courses will be subject to the CUET- PG exam starting admission 2023. The institute along with DU started accepting CUET UG starting 2022 and the CUET PG from 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to UG was based on merit in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU. However, the university still accepts ECA quota admissions. While there is no information on direct admissions, students are advised to reach out to the admission office of Miranda House for any details on direct admissions.

Q:   What is the admission process of Miranda House?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

In 2022, Miranda House (like all DU affiliated colleges) adopted CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses. Miranda House admission 2023 for UG courses (as per DU) will be through Common Seat Allocation System of the University of Delhi. But, at first, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:

Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.

Step 2: Submit Miranda House + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard. Here student must select their preferred course and college as the option.

Step 3: The University has released the dates for three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists which will be out on August 1, August 10 and August 22, 2023, respectively for all categories.

Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the Miranda House will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification.

Step 5: Once Miranda House accords the approval, candidates will have to pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seat.
