- The CSAB Counselling 2026 special round 2 has now concluded.
- NIRF ranking 2024 has been released recently. NIT Sikkim has been placed in the 151-200 rank band under the "Engineering" category.
- The JEE Main 2027 session 1 exam dates are out on the official website for the NIT Sikkim B.E. / B.Tech admission. The exam will be held on Jan 22,2027 to Jan 24,2027 and Jan 28, 2027 to Jan 30, 2027 respectively.

NIT Sikkim BTech fees structure contains eight installments of equal cost. Major recurring components of NIT Sikkim BTech fees are tuition, examination, library, laboratory, institute development and training & placement fees. Candidates are categorised under three heads based on the total tuition fees charged from them. These categories are as follows:

Candidates who are covered under full waiver category are not charged any tuition fees however, all other recurring fees is still charged from them. SC/ST/PwD & candidates with annual income less than INR 1 lakh are categorised under full waiver. 2/3rd Remission category BTech students are only chargd 66.67% of total tuition fees. There are no scholarships offered by NIT Sikkim to cover NIT Sikkim BTech cost by itself. However, there are government and third party schemes that provide financial aid in paying NIT Sikkim fees.

The total fee for the BTech programme at NIT Sikkim is INR 5.86 lakh. Total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year, hence is indicative. ST/SC & PH students are fully exempted from paying tuition fees, while the most economically backward students (whose family income is less than Rs.1.00 Lacs per annum) are granted full remission of the tuition fee.
Other economically backward students, whose family income falls between INR 1- 5 LPA, are granted a remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee.

NIT Sikkim BTech Admission and Application Process 2026
NIT Sikkim BTech course admission is conducted on national level through JoSAA counselling. Candidates are selected based on valid JEE Main result during this counselling. NIT Sikkim BTech application process includes only registration for accepted entrance exam as well as following counselling round.

STEP 1: NIT Sikkim BTech Application Process
- Go to NTA portal of JEE Main.
- Find Public Notice for Commencement of Exam.
- Click on registration link within and fill registration form.
- Attach copies of all requested documents.
- Pay JEE Main registration fees of INR 1,000.
After JEE Main results have been declared, candidates can register for JoSAA from its own NTA portal following a similar process as above.
STEP 2: Counselling Rounds
When JoSAA counselling begins, candidates are required to fill their choice for BTech course and institute. For NIT Sikkim admission, candidates need to lock it and a BTech course offered by it as their choice. Selection of candidates will be done based on following factors:
- Class 12 board exam result
- Entrance exam result
- Applicable Reservations
- Availability of Seats
Chosen candidates are then requested for payment of admission fees which is INR 645. Once paid, allotment letter is issued to the candidate.
STEP 3: Confirmation of Admission
To conclude admission process, candidate need to submit their allottment letter along with other documents for verification at designated NIT Sikkim office. After all documents have been verified, a candidate's admission into their chosen BTech course is complete.

No, candidates cannot apply for NIT Sikkim BTech admission in offline mode. Candidates who want to apply for BTech must register for JEE Mains followed by JoSAA counselling. Registration for both is only possible online through their respective NTA portals.
Yes, candidates who have not received their Class 12 board exam results can still apply for BTech at NIT Sikkim. Registration for both JEE Main and JoSAA counselling can be completed before these results are announced.

BTech in CSE gets additional seats over other specialisations at National Institute of Technology, Sikkim. According to the NIT Sikkim CSE cutoff 2026 for the first round, a rank of at least 8674 would be needed by the OBC AI category candidates. Students with a rank below the one mentioned here would have a better chance for admission.

To get admission in NIT Sikkim PhD, students must fulfil the eligibility and selection requirement to get admission. The eligibility is to have a master's degree I relevant field from a recognised university. PhD admission is done on the basis of GATE/ NET.
