The National Institute of Technology Patna has been ranked #55 in the Engineering category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2024. It is one of the top Engineering institutes in the country. The highest and average package offered during NIT Patna placements 2023 stood at INR 52 LPA and INR 13.30 LPA, respectively. The average salary offered to the graduating class of 2025 pursuing BTech at the National Institute of Technology Patna was INR 9.90 LPA. More than 100 companies visited the college campus for hiring and extended 505 offers to the graduating batch.

NIT Patna fees include multiple components such as tuition fee, hostel fee, caution deposit, development fee, etc. The National Institute of Technology Patna BTech tuition fee is INR 5 lakh. Candidates are also required to pay INR 2.72 Lakh as hostel fee, INR 46,200 as one-time charge and INR 66,450 towards miscellaneous components. JoSAA counselling 2026 closing rank is yet to be out for NIT Patna BTech CSE. As per the previous year's cutoff, the closing rank for BTech CSE was 19078 for the All India General category. Considering the past year trends, the cutoff is likely to be within the same range this year as well.

Candidates seeking admission to the NIT Patna must first appear for the entrance examinations which is JEE Mains for BTech, GATE for M.Tech and NIMCET for MCA.
