NIT Patna is a wonderful college.
Placements: Our college placements are amazing. Around 72-83 percent of students get placed in our course. The highest package offered in our college is 45 LPA, and the average package offered is 12 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 5LPA. Companies like Aditya Birla, Tata, and PhonePe recruit students from our course. Every student gets internships in the 2nd or 3rd year through hard work.
Infrastructure: Facilities available in our hostel include Wi-Fi, drinking water, light, fans, and beds. Fully air-conditioned classrooms are available in our college. A central library is also available on our campus, and books can be issued by students. The quality of food served in the mess is average. Three canteens are available on our campus, and the fast food is good. We have a small ground to play different sports like volleyball, football, and cricket.
Faculty: Professors are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. All of them are PhD holders. Courses are relevant to industry needs. Besides, one has to prepare themselves too. Each semester has 2 exams, mid-term and end-term. One needs to score at least 35 percent in order to pass the course.

Satisfied with infrastructure and facilities provided by the college.
Placements: Almost 70 percent of the students are placed in this course but in different categories, the highest package is noted to be around 42 LPA and average is 8 LPA, top recruiting companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, and SAP visited our campus to hire the students, and at last of this course 80 percent of the students receive internship offers, may provide stipend or may not.
Infrastructure: Recently we are shifted to new NIT Patna, it is very beautiful and bigger than the old NIT, old NIT was around 50 acres where the new one is around 120 acres, they provide Wi-Fi facility 24/7 and all labs and library are running with air conditioning, food quality was good but somewhat difficult for south students, but we can manage.
Faculty: The curriculum in college is good, professors are very knowledgeable and highly educated, they are very helpful to implement our ideas in any type of project, difficulty of exams vary with year and faculty, grades are running followed by relative grading, and if we want good grade, we have to be top in our class.
Other: It is not a normal college that we can get an easy admission in, it is not top NIT or least NIT, it is in the middle, but inside of the college all are good, and for those belonging to SC, ST, and lower-income students they get full scholarship for their tuition fees, they only pay for living in the college.

Review of NIT Patna - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: This year, only about 40% of students were placed in our branch. The highest package is around 18 LPA, the lowest is 3.6 LPA, and the average is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T, Infosys, TCS, and other software companies, as there are no jobs in the core field. Almost only 20% of students get internships. The top roles offered are Software Engineer, Structural Engineer, Site Engineer, and Environment Engineer.
Infrastructure: I live in the hostel named Brahmapur Hostel of the National Institute of Technology, Patna. This is one of the largest hostels for boys in NIT Patna. The mess structure of NIT Patna is delicious, and yesterday it had a special dinner. There are three boys' hostels and one girls' hostel. The net capacity is around 1,400 students. Some hostels have poor basic facilities. The Wi-Fi is very slow due to the large number of users. The library is well-equipped, but the classrooms are a bit old. Messy food is unacceptable.
Faculty: Teachers in the department are invaluable to students, but others, like the Physics department, do not seem well-qualified. Students have to prepare on their own using YouTube or another platform. The course curriculum is very relevant, focusing only on courses that help with placements. There are two midterms and one end-of-semester exam each semester.
Other: Here, professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable.

The best college I have ever seen.
Placements: 80 to 85 percent of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package in our college is 45 LPA, the average salary package is 14 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 6 LPA. Some hostels have poor basic facilities, and Wi-Fi is very slow due to the large number of users. The library is well equipped, but the classrooms are a bit old. Mess food is unacceptable, and there is a single big ground for sports like football and cricket.

Decent placements, affordable.
Placements: About 55.3% of students are placed in the year 2024-25. The highest package is 41.37 LPA for a UG student in 2024-25, and the lowest package is 5 LPA, companies like Engineering Testing Co. Pvt. Ltd, Gammon India Ltd, Consulting Engineering Service India Limited, and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) recruited students. At least 50% of students received internships and full-time employment at Larsen & Toubro, Ultratech, and Adani Power, with roles such as site engineer and structural engineer.
Infrastructure: All the facilities available in the college are very good. The Department of Civil Engineering is situated in the main building of the college, they provide Wi-Fi connections 24/7. All the laboratories are very well arranged. The central library also looks very attractive and clean, with plenty of space to study.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They have excellent teaching techniques and quality, it is relevant. Semester exams are conducted in a very good and proper way, and the passing percentage of the semester is at least 6.5%.
Other: I chose Civil Engineering because of my passion. The best thing about my course is that it is the best branch in the college. They could improve some attendance criteria. Nowadays, fests are not organized because of shifting to the new campus. The campus crowd is good, connectivity is good, the campus surroundings are also good, and there are extracurricular activities like playing badminton, volleyball, football, etc.

A college whose old campus is small but has all the facilities.
Placements: I am currently in my 2nd year of a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering course. The placement opportunities in this particular course are not good, as I have learned from my seniors. There are a total of 125 students in this course. The criteria to sit for placements is at least a 7 CGPA. Out of the 93 registered students, only 35 got placed, with an average package of 7.5 LPA; the lowest package is 6 LPA and the highest is 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: The old campus is located along the banks of the Ganga River and serves as the previous campus of Patna University. The new campus is situated in Bihta, which is far from Patna City. Currently, only 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students from the CSE and ECE departments are shifting there. The old campus has essential facilities such as a hospital, library, bank, canteen, basketball court, badminton court, table tennis court, and gym. In the new Bihta campus, it takes almost 1 year to provide all the facilities like the old campus. The old campus has 4 boys and 1 girls hostel.
Faculty: The curriculum design at this college is good compared to other colleges. The semester system is implemented here, and two exams are held each semester: mid-sem and end-sem. Viva exams are also conducted. The marking system is based on relative grading, which makes passing not overly difficult.
Other: The old campus is quite crowded, with only one ground available for playing cricket, football, and volleyball. The fests are not well-organized, and the clubs here primarily focus on fun rather than placements. The fee is almost 8 lacs for general category students. There is a remission in fees for SC and ST students with low family income.

Best college of all time.
Placements: In Civil Engineering, there was above 87% placement. In 2024, the highest package was 23 LPA. Top recruiting companies were BPCL, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Petroleum, and many more. In the 2nd year, rarely 20-25% of students got placed, but in the 3rd year, it went above 30-40%.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good, with various labs and machines. Sports facilities were also average, and the quality of mess food was very good. Classrooms were well maintained with projectors and mics. Wi-Fi connection was average, around 2-2.5 Mbps, but personal network speed was the best of all time.
Faculty: Professors at NIT Patna were highly qualified, with PhDs in their respective subjects, but their teaching skills were somewhat very good. They were like an ocean of knowledge but were very good at expressing their thoughts. The course curriculum followed the NEP and was industry-relevant. Semester exams were easy, and the pass rate was near 93% in the first year.

Yes, you can take admission. Many core companies like L&T and Afcons come. As well as many non-core placements are there for civil engineers.

Hi Rohit, if you want any type of help you have to tell your category but I am telling you about the General category.
Last year the cutoff was 81 for general category and closing rank of civil engineering in NIT Patna was 28,800 approx for other state and 31000 approx for Home State in 7th round.13
