It solely depends upon you.
Placements: It is not as bad as you might have heard. This course is actually not placement-oriented; it is research-oriented, mostly for higher studies. If you want, you could still try for placements as few students apply for them because most of them pursue higher studies and research. Still, if you have interest in this course, you could choose it. There have been many GATE rankers too from our institute, so it is also a great option. It is quite interesting indeed, at least for me.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is okay. It sometimes stops working on its own, but the infrastructure and exposure are quite good. There are 4 or 5 canteens. There is a place for indoor games and a quite big ground for outdoor games too if you are interested, a basketball ground, a tennis court (outdoor one is being built right now), but still it is quite good, I think.
Faculty: Some teachers are syllabus-oriented, some actually want you to learn something. If I say the faculty is great and quite helpful, it is true. Faculty try their best in their own way, but it depends on you the most. You should also explore on your own to find the options you have. Try to understand rather than cramming; then the semester exams won’t seem difficult, otherwise they will.

Things one should know about NITJ before taking admission.
Placements: I am in the biotechnology branch, which is research oriented so there are multiple research-oriented companies that visit our college. In this branch, placement opportunities are less as compared to other branches and most students go for research or a higher degree. If you want to go abroad, then you can definitely choose this branch. The average package for this branch goes up to 8–10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The entire campus has Wi-Fi service with good internet speed. The labs in my department are well-equipped as per the things required for experiments but modern equipment is yet to come. The faculty is very supportive and if you behave well with them, then they too will be very friendly. There is a student activity center for students where you can play all types of indoor sports and outdoor facilities are also very good in sports like basketball, cricket, football, badminton, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are well qualified and they are really supportive. If you pay attention to what they are teaching, you will definitely understand, but you have to maintain 75 percent attendance, which is what I do not like. If you want to go into the research field, then you will definitely get lots of opportunities, and to be industrially ready, you have to be very active with teachers and seniors who can help you.
Other: The college is spread over 154 acres and the campus is beautiful. Seniors are very supportive and you will definitely enjoy it a lot as you will meet different people from different parts of India.

It's a ragging free campus which is very beautiful and green .
Placements: I am in the biotechnology branch so the branch is research oriented and there is too much scope for research outside India, so the placement rate is quite low. But in our department, we have some acquaintances; some of them are now working at Microsoft, Amazon and also vice president Morgan Stanley.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good and well maintained but the size is small; it's just 154 acres. But you get every facility in college. Hostel facilities are also good in the second year, but there is an issue for first-year students. Our campus has two libraries and one study room, which is open 24/7. Mess food quality is good enough from another college and free Wi-Fi campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and well-qualified; some of them are in the world's top 2% of scientists. Most of the teachers have very good teaching qualities. The curriculum is not so relevant but their are changes in the 1st year syllabus, like Python and branch-related subjects. Semester exams are not so tough. Studying for one night is enough to score well.
Other: I am nearing the 93 percentile in the general category, so I must take this course in another state. There are about three main festivals in our college, like Bharat Dhawan, Techniti and Utkansh. And you can get any kind of club culture.

Reality of BIOTECHNOLOGY in NIT Jalandhar.
Placements: Please don't take here admission in biotechnology branch. The placement biotechnology is worse than state engineering college. Many students left the institute in second year from biotechnology course. In 2023 the placement was just 33% which means 7 students out of 47 students were placed in bio technology. Coming here in biotechnology is just waste of time and money. I will suggest you not to come here in biotechnology insist you can join computer Science and engineering in other private or government colleges. But don't waste time here. Neither there is any scope of biotechnology is there in NIT Jalandhar nor placements Not even IT companies are allowing biotechnology, very few companies allowed us and at the end they took 2-3 students. The placement of other branches is good like textile at least 60%, civil 75%, chemical 90%. Moreover here you might face some discrinamation during organsing event if you are from lower branches.
Infrastructure: College has nice buildings, although the building of biotechnology is worse than other buildings. Very less AC and facilities are there biotechnology department. Infrastructure of computer Science and engineering is good followed by ECE, ice and ee buildings. Boys hostels are separate from girls hostel. Boys hostel s there at one end and girls hostel is there other end. Biotechnology labs are very small and sufficient space are there for students.
Faculty: Our core exams are harder than other branches. Very less CGPA secured by the students of biotechnology branches. Syllabus is not very vast but neither have any industry exposure. Exams are conducted thrice a semester and six times in a year. Professors are also does not have very deep knowledge. Most of the professors are guest faculty members as they have not cleared UGC exam. Our department is located far from other departments. Like all departments are together at one side and biotechnolgy at the other end.
Other: Campus life is good, you will make good friends, some are good and some re bad. It's you only have to decide you want to be there in which company. Fest are organised twice a year. Wi-Fi connection is below average in hostels and no Wi-Fi is there in classes.

Review of NIT Jalandhar - Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology.
Placements: Our course doesn't offer placements in the core. Students mainly go for non-core jobs like IT, consultant, etc. Around 60-70% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 20 LPA. Around 10-20% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides us with all facilities. Labs are very good with all the required equipment for experiments. The Wi-Fi speed is around 50-200 Mbps. The library and classrooms are good and classic. The food served in the mess is not good.
Faculty: Our teachers are supportive. They are very helpful and well-qualified. Some of them are Ph.D. holders from top IITs. A few teachers graduated from foreign universities. They conduct two minors and one end-semester exam every semester. Sometimes, they are very hectic, but it's manageable.
Other: Our branch is all about life and it's very interesting. I opted for this course because of my rank. Our college organises many fests like Utkansh, technical fests, etc. Our college celebrates all religious festivals, which is very good. In our college, the sports culture is good.

Really good infrastructure, extra-activities and placements..
Placements: Every year, approximately 30% of the students from biotech got placed with an average package of 7-8 LPA. CSE, IT and ECE's placement percentage is too high. Like every student who got placed got a package of about 12lpa. Some students got 44lpa (the highest package) from CSE branch. Companies who recruit students from here are the top companies like Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft and many more.
Infrastructure: There are like 3 or 4 boys hostel among which 2 are the best hostels. Mess facilities are too good. While the rooms of hostel no. B are too good however water facilities are not that much good. It is too difficult to make a place in Nitj cricket team due to high competition. You can imagine how much priority is given to sports among students.
Faculty: 60% of the teachers are very helpful. Like they help the students in attendance and they also listens to the problems of students and tries to solve the problems. However their teaching style sometimes feels bore. But yes sometimes they discuss extra topics in the interests of students. And 40% are like they are just straightforward towards the completion of syllabus. However they listens to student problems but didn't make extra efforts to solve their problem.
Other: From the seniors, I came to know that there are so many extra curricular activities waiting for us to participate in. There are too many clubs other than sports, dancing and singing.

It has good faculty, overall placements, and amazing college life.
Placements: Usually, students go for software-oriented jobs as biotechnology is a research-based field and it's preferable to do higher studies for better job roles. For IT jobs one needs to prepare themselves the programing language and try all the questions related to it. Maximum companies allow all the branches to sit in placements and the average package is 7-8 LPA in IT jobs and 5-7 LPA in biotechnology.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi speed is below average in the hostel but it's good in lecture halls and department areas. Our college provides good mess and most of the sports activities are organised by the respective faculty members. The food is good not so bad, you get a canteen and cafeteria over there to enjoy with your friends.
Faculty: Teachers have good knowledge of the subjects and you can clear your queries whenever you feel to do so. Be in the touch with the professor and keep on taking the knowledge of your specific branch as they can guide you very well. Try to handle as many projects as you can.
Other: Well, I opted for this course as a personal choice from the branches I was getting. When you enter biotechnology you may hear a lot of comments about its specific placements but trust me you can find your way out if you want to succeed in your life.

Our college is good to take admission.
Placements: The placements ratio is 3/4. The lowest salary package is 3 LPA and the highest salary package is 16 LPA. All the students got internships. I am the lab instructor. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Sonallika, Ola, Paytm, and many good companies come for placement.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good with a speed of more than 100 Mbps and no daily limits but is not available 1 day a week. Labs are good with air-conditioners. Classrooms are very big. Library is lower than average and is very hot as air-conditioners are not available.
Faculty: Teaching quality is more than average. Teachers are good and have done Ph.D. from IIT and NIT. More knowledge is required for the industry. Semester exams are difficult. If you cover the syllabus, you will get a good CGPA.

No, to get admission in any engineering college of national importance like IIT, NIT and IIIT and also in state government engineering colleges then you have to appear in JEE Mains exam and go with JoSSA counseling then you can get the admission in biotechnology in NITJ based on your rank.
