NIT Calicut is a heavenly college in god's own country.
Placements: The placement in the college is very good. The average package is 9 LPA. The college provides strong support throughout the placement season. However, students are highly advised to work very hard because the competition is tough.
Infrastructure: The buildings and infrastructure are well maintained. It has regular maintenance and construction throughout the campus, making living here convenient and worth the money spent. Although the campus is very big. You might need a cycle for comfort.
Faculty: Faculty here is one of the best among any other institute in India. They are all Ph.D. holders from NIT, IIT, IISc, and even some from Ivy League schools. The semester exams are very hard and difficult to score a high GPA, so students must be very careful.
Other: The college curriculum is very hectic, so be prepared to face challenges. Above all, the placement is good but not well guided, so you have to perform and manage things on your own.

Review of NIT Calicut College.
Placements: Every year, more than 75 percent of students find their way into management companies, typically with packages over 8 LPA. A couple of our seniors recently landed some great offers, one hitting 36 LPA. Another senior got a package of 22 LPA in mechanical engineering, while others got 16 LPA and 12 LPA in mechanical and EEE courses, respectively. These were the packages from folks I know.
Infrastructure: When we talk about the college's infrastructure, it covers all the basics clean water supply, spacious science labs, an auditorium for cultural events, and a playground for sports. There was a well-stocked library and tidy classrooms. Students could also benefit from transportation and on-campus housing if they did not have their own rides. The mess was kept clean, and while the food was decent, I think adding a few more choices that students like would be a real bonus.
Faculty: The faculty and staff really did a good job here. First-year classes felt quite a bit like high school, which honestly made the transition easier. The yearly tests were not too complicated. The college did a great job recognizing academic achievements, going out of its way to celebrate the top performers.

About good campus life and hostel facilities.
Placements: Around 70% of students are placed. The highest package is around 18 LPA. The lowest package offered is around 4 LPA. Out of all the companies, around 40% of students are in core companies. Rest of the companies are sales and marketing related. Usually, 3rd year students get internship offers, and 4th year students get placements. Internship offer percentage is less, around 20%.
Infrastructure: Hostels are good with changing room allotments by year. In the first year, rooms are shared by 3 students (earlier 4). Second and third years stay in the Mega hostel with 2 students per room. In the final year, students can choose the campus hostels or the Mega hostel, with a single room provided. Wi-Fi or LAN is provided to all the hostels. Mess food is better than that in many colleges, with multiple mess options available. There is a health center outside the main campus.
Faculty: Semester exams are moderately tough, and most of the grading system is relatively. Everyone has to get a minimum of 40% marks in order to pass. All teachers here are highly qualified. Most professors maintain good teaching quality, though a few lack in this aspect. The old curriculum was followed till 2024. But I think it is completely restructured now for 2024 admissions onwards, and may make the students industry-ready.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering as I was interested in cars. Even though its not much popular nowadays, it's still one of the core branches and its value will remain as it is for the rest of the time. During my study, the curriculum was not industry-ready. Many lack the awareness of the skills that are needed in the companies. But a lot of changes have been made in the curriculum for the upcoming batches, and I believe this will be beneficial for them. Ragam and Tathva are the 2 fests conducted annually.
