NIT Puducherry BTech admission are done on the basis of rank secured in JEE Mains followed by seat allotment process conducted by JoSAA. The seat allotment is done on the basis of choices filled by the candidate and availability of seats in the preferred institute.

 The total seat intake of NIT Puducherry BTech is 275 across all specialisations. The 50% of the total seats of BTech at NIT Puducherry is reserved for Home-state candidates (Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yanam, and Andaman Nicobar).

NIT Puducherry PhD admission is done basis UGC NET/Gate score followed by written test and interview. The institute offers a Full-time as well as a Part-time PhD programme.

NIT Puducherry offers BTech and M.Tech programmes as it popular programmes. The university offers these programmes to students at the UG and PG levels. The university is mainly concerned with streams such as Engineering and Science. Further, the university offerfs a BTech programme to students for a duration of 4 years and M.Tech for a duration of 2 years. 

National Institute of Puducherry (NITPY) was established by the Government of India in 2010. NIT Puducherry is one of the ten new NITs. In addition, it is one among the 31 NITs acknowledged as Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. To get into NIT Puducherry, a candidate must have attained the rank as per the JEE Main cutoff 2025. As per the last round of the cutoff list,  the cutoff ranks among the General AI category candidates varied between 22336 and 69557. Therefore, to get admission to NIT Puducherry, a candidate must have a rank of at least 69557.

For candidates belonging to the General AI quota, the minimum and maximum GATE scores required were 377 and 579 during Round 1 admission to the M.Tech course. NIT Puducherry cut off 2025 was concluded for M.E./M. Tech admission is based on GATE entrance exam score, followed by the CCMT counselling process. The cutoff was released as scores for different categories belonging to the AI quota. NIT Puducherry GATE cutoff 2025 ranged between 377 and 510 for students belonging to the General AI category, wherein M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the toughest course to get admitted to.  Therefore, getting admission to NIT Puducherry with this score is possible.

To get a seat at NIT Puducherry, one would need to secure a CCMN 2025 rank of at least 1690 or lower if they belong to the General AI category to qualify for admission for various MSc specialisations. For the General AI category, the cutoff rank ranged from 1474 to 1690 during the last round and from 1172 to 1345 for the first round. Considering the last round cutoff,  M.Sc. in Chemistry has proved  to be the toughest for admission.
