
SEED 2026 Exam Pattern - The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) 2026 is an essential test for students aspiring to pursue design courses at Symbiosis Institute of Design. The exam pattern for SEED 2026 will consist of objective-type questions designed to assess candidates' design aptitude, creativity, problem-solving skills, and general awareness related to design.
The Symbiosis Institute of Design is expected to conduct the SEED 2026 entrance exam in the second week of January 2026. Candidates who qualify in the written exam next have to appear in a PRPI. To prepare the SEED 2025 final merit list, the admission committee will consider the performance of the candidate in both 1) SEED and 2) PRPI rounds.

The start date for uploading portfolios is March 27, 2025. The portfolio upload link was given on the SID admission portal. The candidate needed to follow the specified guidelines when uploading the portfolio.
The portfolio contained the following elements:
Sketches, mixed media illustrations and digital work
Collaging of images, 2D and 3D articles
Photography
3D objects like sculpture, fabric products, gadgets, art inspired products etc.
The call letters for the personal interview (PRPI admit card) were issued on March 21, 2025. The admit card were issued only to candidates who complete the slot booking process.
Note hard copies of the call letter are sent to the candidate.
On the day of the PRPI, the candidate will have to display the admit card on demand. Any candidate failing to do so will not be allowed to sit in the exam.
The application form of SEED 2025 is now OPEN for the M.Des program.
Candidates who met the prescribed eligibility criteria can apply from August 14 to April 15, 2025.
The application form has to be submitted online at sid.edu.in (application link also given on this page).
As part of the application filling process, the candidate has to get registered, fill in the form, upload documents, and pay the application fee.
The SID admission registration fee is Rs. 3250/- (Rs. 2250 for SEED & Rs. 1000 for SID)

The exam pattern for SEED 2026 is given below.
- The SEED will be a 60-minute exam containing 60 questions.

For the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) 2026, candidates who qualify for the SEED are required to participate in the Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) as part of the admission process to the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID).
SEED Portfolio Requirements:
Format: Create a digital portfolio compiled into a PowerPoint presentation of up to 15 slides. Convert this presentation into a PDF file not exceeding 5 MB in size.

For an experienced faculty, it is not very difficult to distinguish work that is self-made or ready-made. During the Personal Interaction round, the candidate will be asked questions based on their submitted portfolio. If any unfair means are observed, the candidature will stand cancelled. The specifications reqiuired for submitting the portfolio will be notified by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) at the time of release of the admission notification or sometime thereabout.
The portfolio shoud be uploaded in a digital format and should be not more that 5 MB. Also, the portfolio must be a presented in the form of a Power Point Presentation of maximum 15 slides.
SEED Exam 2026 Pattern: Personal Interaction
Candidates who get shortlisted on the basis of their portfolios are required to attend this Personal Interview round. In this round, candidates are asked questions related to the program they have opted for. Yes, there is a possibility that one can be asked to. The candidate must have basic stationery including pen, paper, and pencils available during their PI session. The personal interaction round of SEED 2025 will be conducted online. Candidates who are shortlisted for personal interaction will have to book their slots within the given window. Note that slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is no negative marking in SEED 2025. So, even if the candidates makes any wrong attempts, no marks will be deducted. The SEED 2025 question paper will include a total of 60 questiions that the candidate has to attempt in 60 minutes. Each question will carry +1 mark.

Also, even though there is no negative marking, the candidate must try to improve their strike rate or the number of correct attempts. No, SEED M.Des 2026 application forms have not been released yet. The applications are out only for the B.Des programme by Symbiosis Institute of Design. M.Des Applications for 2026 are expected to be out soon.

Yes, SEED will conduct a mock test for B.Des Admission 2026. The Mock test will be conducted on January 07, 2026, and the exams will be conducted on January 11, 2026.
