SEED Result 2025 (OUT): Download Scorecard, Merti List for B.Des & M.Des Here

The results of the SEED 2025 written exam will be declared on January 17, 2025. The results will be declared online at sid.edu.in.

To check their results, the candidate needs to log in to the portal using their B.Des ID and password.

The result will include details like sectional marks, total marks, and the qualifying status.

Candidates who qualify in the written exam will have to next appear in a portfolio and personal interaction round.

The final results-cum-merit list of SEED 2025 will released on April 21, 2025.

It will be prepared by  cumulative performance of the candidate in SEED 2025 exam, Portfolio Review, PRPI Task and Personal Interaction.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) released the first merit list on April 21, 2025. Candidates can check the same by visiting the official website; i.e. sid.edu.in.

To download the merit list, the candidate will have to log in to the result portal using their B.Des ID and password.

The merit list will include the merit rank of the candidate and the seat allotment status. Candidates who are included in the merit list will have to get registered for the programme and pay the fee on or before May 2, 2025. 

Admission to the B.Desprogrammeoffered by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will be in the following sequence:

1. Filling of online application - Eligible candidates need to fill out the SEED 2025 application form before the last date.

2. Appear in SEED 2025 exam - The candidate has to download the admit card and appear in the SEED 2025 entrance exam on the designed day.

3. Declaration of results and shortlist - The results will be declared around the 4th week of January, followed by the released of shortlist for PRPI.

4. Upload PRPI Task and Portfolio - Eligible candidates will have to upload their portfolio and PRPI task within the given deadline.

5. Appear in Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction round.

6. Declaration of first merit list - The merit list will be prepared by considering the cumulative performance of the candidate in Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Portfolio Review, PRPI Task and Personal Interaction.

The Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) will be conducted in two phases. Phase I will conducted from March 28-30, 2025. Meanwhile, Phase 2 will be conducted from April 11-13, 2025.

The candidate was notified about the phase they needed to appear in through the PRPI admit card. 

Note that the personal interaction was conducted in an online mode.

The call letters for the personal interview (PRPI admit card) were issued on March 21, 2025. The admit card were issued only to candidates who complete the slot booking process. 

Note hard copies of the call letter are sent to the candidate.

On the day of the PRPI, the candidate will have to display the admit card on demand. Any candidate failing to do so will not be allowed to sit in the exam.

The slot booking process of SEED 2025 for the Personal Interaction will open on January 21, 2025.

Candidates who have qualified in the written exams have to book their slots by January 29, 2025. The slot booking process will open online at sid.edu.in.

You need to log in to the portal using your log-in ID and password to book your slots.

Upon successful slot booking, call letters will be issued.

The start date for uploading portfolios is March 27, 2025. The portfolio upload link was given on the SID admission portal. The candidate needed to follow the specified guidelines when uploading the portfolio. 

The portfolio contained the following elements:

• Sketches, mixed media illustrations and digital work  

• Collaging of images, 2D and 3D articles  

• Photography  

• 3D objects like sculpture, fabric products, gadgets, art inspired products etc.

The digital portfolio should be a compilation of the best work of the candidate that showcases teh candidate’s skills, passion and interest in a variety of areas and techniques. 

It is recommended to take good quality pictures of this work and compile them in a Power Point Presentation. Note that a maximum 15 slides are allowed. 

You need to then convert this into PDF (max size 5 MB). Try to be different and include unique and interesting things. 

The B.Des programme has an intake capacity of 180 seats (Indian nationals only). In addition, there are 27 seats reserved for international students. The candidate may note that the seat intake is however subject to approval from SIU. There is also reservation of seats for SC, ST, and Differently Abled candidates.

The B.Des programme is available in four specialisations - Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, and Fashion Communication.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design will release the first merit list for B Des admissions 2025 on April 21, 2025. The merit list will be prepared based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in the SEED 2025 exam, PRPI, and the task uploaded. 

The 1st seat allotment cum merit list of SEED 2025 (B.Des) will be declared on April 21, 2025. Candidates who are allocated seats will have to pay the seat-acceptance fee on or before May 2, 2025. The fee payment schedule has been released by the Symbiosis Institute of Design on its admission portal - sid.edu.in.

If the candidate fails to make the payment within the given deadline, the allotted seat will be canceled and will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit. Also, along with the payment of the fees, the candidate will also have to register for the allotted program. 

The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) 2025 does not have an officially declared cutoff score by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID). However, based on trends from previous years, the expected cutoff for SEED 2025 is likely to fall between 55% and 65% of the total score. Since the SEED exam is marked out of 60, this equates to an estimated cutoff in the range of 33 to 39 marks.

Yes, the Symbiosis Institute of Design will verify all the information furnished by the candidate in the application form. The verification process will be condcucted at the time of SEED 2025 counseling and seat allotment. So, it is recommended that the candidate only furnishes only genuine and verifiable information in the application form. If incorrect information is submitted, the candidate may face disqualfiication. 

In case the candidate is awarded a seat and is found to be ineligible later on, the seat may be cancelled and allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.

Candidates who are included in the waiting list will be considered for admission only if there are any vacancies. The seat allotment for waiting list candidates will be conducted if there are any vacant seats left.

The allotment of seats in this case will be based on SEED 2025 merit ranks.

After qualifying in the SEED 2025 entrance exam, candidates move on to the next stage of the admission process, which is the Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI). This stage is crucial for assessing a candidate's creative potential, communication skills, and design aptitude beyond the written exam.

The PRPI process consists of the following components:

1. Task Submission:
   Shortlisted candidates are required to complete and upload a design-related task. This task is designed to evaluate their creativity, ideation, and ability to solve problems visually or conceptually.

2. Portfolio Review:
   Candidates must present a portfolio showcasing their best creative work. The portfolio can include drawings, sketches, digital designs, photography, crafts, or any projects that reflect their artistic and design abilities. The review helps assess the candidate's aesthetic sense, originality, and visual storytelling.

3. Personal Interaction (Interview):
   In this stage, candidates participate in a personal interview where faculty members engage them in a conversation about their interests, motivation to pursue design, understanding of the field, and overall personality. Communication skills, clarity of thought, and passion for design are important aspects evaluated here.

The final merit list is then prepared based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in:

The Symbiosis Institute of Design will release the first merit list for design admissions 2025 on April 21, 2025.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) has launched a Master of Design (M. Des) in the field of User Experience Design. The duration of the programme is two years, which carries 80 credits, and the degree is awarded by the Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune.

SEED Fee Structure for M.Des program

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will conduct the SEED 2025 written exam on January 12, 2025. The exam will be of 1 hour duration (to be conducted between 10 am to 4 pm).

The exam slot allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the admit card.

On exam day, the candidate has to be ready an hour so before the exam to ensure all pre-exam formalites are comleted on time. The SEED exam will be being conducted in an online proctored mode.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) offers a Bachelor of Design (B. Des) of four years duration. Admission to the course is conducted through the SEED 2025 entrance exam and PRPI rounds. The fee structure for the B.Des programme is given in the table below.

SEED 2025 - Tuition Fees for the B.Des program

Candidate seeking admission to the M.Des programme need to meet the following criteria:

Qualifying exam: 

Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 4-year duration in any specialization, after 10+2 or equivalent a recognised institute.

OR

Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or Architecture, after 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised institute.

Minimum marks:

The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for SC and ST categories).

The SEED 2025 application form is now closed.

The application opened on August 16, 2024. The last date to apply for the exam was January 1, 2025.

Applications had to be filled out open online at SID official website - sid.edu.in.  The detailed application schedule was released by the institute on its admission portal.

Candidates who met the prescribed criteria may apply before the last date (January 1).

The SEED 2025 application form is for admission to the B.Desprogramme offered by participating colleges.
