
SEED 2026 Exam Preparation - SEED Entrance Exam for B.Des will be conducted on January 11, 2026. SEED M.Des Exam will be on May 03, 2026. Candidates appearing in SEED entrance exam must ensure that their preparation is comprehensive and covers all the necessary bases.

Per the official pattern, the SEED 2026 question paper will include 150 objective-type questions that have to be answered in 180 minutes.

The syllabus for SEED 2026 includes topics like Visualisation, Observational, perceptual & reasoning abilities, Creative & problem-solving abilities, and Application of basic knowledge of Science & Mathematics.
Candidates should check the website for the latest syllabus given by SEED. Some of the important topics which candidates can study are
- Visualization and spatial reasoning: The question will be based on ability to visualise and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
- Practical and scientific knowledge: The question will be on the basic scientific principles and everyday objects, like dining table, bookshelves, etc.
- Observation and design sensitivity: Questions will be based on detail, classification, analysis, inference and prediction.
- Environment and society: This part of the syllabus will have topics from general awareness of environmental, social and cultural connections with design

As per the information given on SID website, SID does not promote or is aware of any coaching classes/preparatory classes. Candidates have the choice to decide whether they want to join any coaching institute or not. Many coaching institutes offer preparatory classes for exams like NIFT, NID DAT, etc.
- Click good quality pictures of these and compile them in a Power Point Presentation of maximum 15 slides. Convert this into a PDF of up to 5 Mb.

Portfolio submission is the 2nd stage of the SEED 2026 admission process. Candidates who are shortlisted for the PRPI need to upload portfolio and PRPI task starting in the last week of March 2026.

The application form of SEED 2026 is open for the M.Des program. The application form has to be submitted online at sid.edu.in (application link also given on this page).
As part of the application filling process, the candidate has to get registered, fill in the form, upload documents, and pay the application fee. The SID admission registration fee is Rs. 3250/- (Rs. 2250 for SEED & Rs. 1000 for SID)
The call letters for the personal interview (PRPI admit card) will be issued in the last week of March 2026. The admit card will be issued only to candidates who complete the slot booking process.
Note that hard copies of the call letter are sent to the candidate.
On the day of the PRPI, the candidate will have to display the admit card on demand. Any candidate failing to do so will not be allowed to sit in the exam.

Yes, Candidates seeking admission to the B.Desprogrammeneed to compulsory appear in the SEED 2026 exam. The scores of the SEED exam will be next shortlisted for a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction round. Note that the final merit list will be prepared by considering the cumulative performance of the candidate in the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Portfolio Review, PRPI Task, and Personal Interaction (PRPI).
So, any candidate who appears in the SEED but doesn’t appear in the PRPI will not be considered for admission.
The B.Des is a 4-year course carrying 160 credits.
The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) is a national level entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International University. The exam is conducted once a year. The SEED exam is conducted as a home-proctored exam that candidates can take from the comfort of their home. The scores of the exam are considering for admission to the B.Desprogrammeoffered by participating colleges.
The application form for SEED 2024 will open around the 1st week of September 2023.
Admission to the B.Desprogramme offered by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will be in the following sequence:
Filling of online application - Eligible candidates need to fill out the SEED 2026 application form before the last date.
Appear in SEED 2026 exam - The candidate has to download the admit card and appear in the SEED 2026 entrance exam on the designated day.
Declaration of results and shortlist - The results will be declared around the 4th week of January, followed by the release of shortlist for PRPI.
Upload PRPI Task and Portfolio - Eligible candidates will have to upload their portfolio and PRPI task within the given deadline.
Appear in Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction round.
Declaration of first merit list - The merit list will be prepared by considering the cumulative performance of the candidate in Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Portfolio Review, PRPI Task and Personal Interaction.
SEED 2026 written will have 60 questions and will be of 60 minutes. The questions will include MCQ, Match the Columns, Fill in the blanks, image based and comprehension based.
Further, the paper will contain a mix of questions related to Visual Sensitivity and Judgement, Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning abilities, Problem Solving, Basic knowledge of Logic of Science and Mathematics, Art, Craft and Culture, Design and Environment.
The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) does not have any provisions for direct admission to second year. So, candidates have to compulsory take admission in the first year of the B.Des program. Note that admission to the B.Des is only through the SEED 2026 exam.
Scores of the qualifying exam will not be considered for admission to the B.Des program. Neither does SID accept scores of other popular entrance exams like NIFT, NID DAT, etc.
