The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) conducts online mock tests for the SEED Entrance Exam. SEED 2027 mock tests are intended to help candidates get insight into the difficulty level of the exam and learn time management.
Candidates may note that, unlike SEED 2027 sample papers, which one can solve very early on in one's exam preparation, mocks are meant to be taken closer to the SEED Entrance Exam. The purpose of SEED 2027 mock tests is to put the finishing touches on one's exam preparation.

Candidates have to upload a digital portfolio as part of admission process at SID. It must be candidate’s best works that show skills, passion and interest in a variety of areas and techniques. When uploading portfolio, candidate must follow rules and guidelines issued.
SEED Portfolio must contain

In SEED Entrance Exam, MCQ, Match the Columns, Fill in the blanks, image-based and comprehension-based questions can be asked.
The question paper will contain a mix of questions related to Visual Sensitivity and Judgement, Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning abilities, Problem Solving, Basic knowledge of Logic of Science and Mathematics, Art, Craft and Culture, Design and Environment.

To practice mock tests for SEED Entrance exam, the candidate should solve question papers and sample papers. These papers will contain the same types of questions that will be asked in the SEED Entrance Exam. The exam pattern for the SEED exam is released for B.Des. It is released online at the official website of the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) - sid.edu.in. Candidates need to follow the updated exam pattern when preparing for the SEED exam.
As per information on SID website, the institute does not promote or is aware of any coaching classes/preparatory classes. So, the candidate can decide whether they want to join any coaching institute or not. Note that there are many coaching institutes that offer preparation classes for exams like NIFT, NID DAT, etc.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) hasn't notified that taking the mock tests is mandatory for admission to the B.Des programme or appearing in SEED. So, it is the discretion of the candidate whether they appear in the mocks or not. That being said it is recommended that the candidate take the mock tests.
It is because the exercise will help the candidate check out the technicalities of the online proctored exam. This in turn will ensure that there are no unnecessary surprises on exam day.
Eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Des programme through SEED 2026 is given below.
There is no age limit for admission to the B.Des program
Candidate must have passed Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognized board or 10+3 Diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education.
Candidate needs to have secured a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes) in the qualifying exam.
Candidate from any stream having completed or appeared for 10+2 can apply for any specialization in design at SID.
The SEED application form will be open till December 28, 2026 for B.Des. Applications had to be filled out online at SID official website - sid.edu.in. The detailed application schedule was released by the institute on its admission portal.

Candidates who are shortlisted for the PRPI need to upload portfolio and PRPI task starting in the last week of March 2027.
The portfolio and PRPI upload link will be available on the SID website after the candidate has booked the Personal Interaction slots.
Candidates who are included in SEED waiting list will be considered for admission only if there are any vacancies. The seat allotment for waiting list candidates will be conducted if any vacant seats remain.
The allotment of seats in this case will be based on SEED merit ranks.
