SEED Participating Institutes 2027 - The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) conducts the SEED 2027 entrance exam for admission to the B.Des program and M.Des offered by the institute. The program is expected to have an intake capacity of 207 seats for B.Des and 24 seats for M.Des. for Indian nationals. In addition, Symbiosis Institute of Design also has 27 supernumerary seats earmarked for international candidates.

B.Des course is available in four disciplines: Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, and Fashion Communication. M.Des is offered in User Experience Design. Admission to the Symbiosis Institute of Design is based on SEED Entrance Exam.

Q: Do I need elementary drawing exam certificate for admission to B.Des programme through SEED 2027?

Candidates are not required to submit an elementary drawing exam certificate for the Admission Procedure at SID. The candidate merely needs to meet the academic, qualifying exam, and age criteria. Eligible candidate next needs to appear in the SEED. Those qualifying in the exam will have to appear next in a PRPI round. The final results will be prepared by giving weightage to the SEED exam and the PRPI.

Q: What should be included in the SEED Portfolio?

Candidates have to upload a digital portfolio as part of admission process at SID. It must be candidate’s best works that show skills, passion and interest in a variety of areas and techniques. When uploading portfolio, candidate must follow rules and guidelines issued.

SEED Portfolio must contain

Sketches, mixed media illustrations and digital work
Collaging of images, 2D and 3D articles
Photography
3D objects like sculpture, fabric products, gadgets, art inspired products etc.

Q: Are there any specific requirement for uploading portfolio for SEED PRPI?

Click good quality pictures of these and compile them in a PowerPoint presentation of a maximum 15 slides. Convert this into a PDF of up to 5 Mb.

The admission process of the Symbiosis Institute of Design will be online. The exam is held in a computer-based mode.

The candidate needs to first appear in the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) 2027. The result of SEED 2027 is used to shortlist candidates for a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round.
Shortlisted candidates have to upload their portfolios and PRPI tasks.
The Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) is conducted in online mode.
A merit list will be prepared based on the performance of the candidate in the SEED 2027 entrance test, uploaded tasks, and PRPI round.
Those included in the merit list are eligible for admission and need to pay the admission fee and get registered.

Candidates who are allotted seats will have to pay seat-acceptance fee within the given deadline. If the payment is not made, allotment will be cancelled. Vacant seat will be offered to the candidate next in the order of merit. Also, there is no option to make a partial payment.

SID presently offers only UG courses in design. So, candidates can't appear in the SEED 2027 exam for admission to any PG courses. The SEED written exam is administered in the month of January.
