It is a good college and worth the money.

Placements: Since my department is core-based, very few core companies come here compared to IT companies, but the placement rate is 99.0% guaranteed for all students. They will provide training from the second year onwards to get placed in a company.

Infrastructure: Labs are neat and perfect, with all the instruments needed. The library is clean and good with books of all categories. Since I am a day scholar, I don't know about the hostel facilities. There is no Wi-Fi connection on the campus. The classrooms are neat and large. All the needed books are available in the library.

Faculty: We can't even say a single fault against staff. They are very helpful to us and provide practical knowledge. We can't say semester exams are hard if we study well. Teachers are knowledgeable, and their teaching quality is good. We must co-operate with the faculty.

Other: I like to join in core-based company, so I chose this course in this college.

The teaching is good but placements are less only IT companies will visit.

Placements: Around 10% of students got placed but only in the IT companies not in core companies. The highest salary pacakge offered was 4 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 1.5 LPA. Infosys and TCS were the top recruiting companies. If students were good in programs they will be selected in IT companies for good packages.

Infrastructure: In this college, classrooms, library, and laboratories were good, but there was no Wi-Fi on campus and mobile phones were not allowed. Food in mess was average, and the food served in the hostel was average. Medical facilities were average. If students were sports person, I will not prefer this college.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful, well knowledgeable, and qualified. Teaching was good quality. The course curriculum was good, and they should do more industrial visits, and internships for students to be ready for industry, because more model exams semester exams will not be difficult. The pass percentage was 80%.

Other: I opted for this course, because to know about vehicles. It provides more industrial visits and internships were better. The college will not allow students to do extracurricular activities.

The campus is quite good, and one can really enjoy here.

Placements: In my course, almost 25% of students got placed in campus interviews. Among them, 20% of students got placed in IT companies only, and 5% of students got placed in core companies (automobile industry). Almost all the students are allowed to do internships and implant training.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available inside the campus. Apart from that, everything is good. The canteen food needs to be improved. Sports are good. The college must appoint a good medical team.

Faculty: Most of the teachers completed PG programs. They have good knowledge about our course. Most probably, the course makes students 60% ready for the industry. Semester exams are easy. 75% is the pass percentage in this course. It's a good course.

Other: The course syllabus is old and needs to be updated.

Actually, it is not strict, but students think that it is a strict college.

Placements: Almost 90% of students were placed in our senior batch. The highest salary package offered was 20 LPA, average salary package offered was 4 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Zoho, TCS, Ashok Leyland visited the campus. Roles offered were Design engineer, quality control officer. The highest salary package offered for our course was 10 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA average salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. 80% of students got an internship from Ashok Leyland, and also our seniors have done some projects to solve their problems, so they gave internship to many students in our college.

Infrastructure: We have labs with working machines, and classrooms are decent, the library has around 70,000 books and every year around 1000 new books are added. Instead of fines, we are supposed to donate books to the college. Wi-Fi is not available in our college. Quality of food in a mess is decent. There is a separate block for medical needs with a permanent doctor and nurse. Facilities for sports is amazing. We have an indoor stadium for basketball and badminton.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is good. Since the college has become autonomous this year, they are bringing new teaching techniques. And they have added new syllabus that helps the students to be on a level with the current technology. This allows students to be industry-ready.

Other: I choose this course because I have more interest in cars and bikes. The best thing about my course is it provides the field experience. The new club, like the go-karting club, would make the course interesting. The college rewards Rs. 3000 to semester toppers. There is a wide array of extracurricular activities like NCC, NSS, sports club, etc.

Overall the Velammal is decent college and provides lots of career opportunities in software company

Placements: For placements they bring in lots of software and IT companies so Placements are best for computer Science and IT department students. But for other departments like Mechanical, Automobile, Civil the companies which visit the campus is very much less when compared to software company. So the students from these departments opt for software companies due to lack of opportunities in their core department.

Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of the campus was okay. The best part is library and indoor sports stadium. They do have a cricket ground which won't be used properly. They Wi-Fi is not good, it ll be available only in certain places. The classrooms will be neat and compact.

Faculty: The faculty which they provide are petty much qualified and skilled. Most of the faculty are Ph.D. holders and well experienced and helpful for students. They are knowledgeable enough to guide the students in right path. As of me I didn't not get enough industry exposure.

Overall, moderate staff, good placement and infrastructure.

Placements: IT companies like CTS, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Zoho etc. visited the college. There's a good intake in IT companies but is low when compared to the previous year intake. Core companies like Delphi TVS, RLE International, Turbo Energy Ltd recruit the students in Automobile. The college does not provide internships. The mechanical course had some other offers additionally to the automobile.

Infrastructure: The college has good lab facilities compared to other colleges but not the best. The HOD is engaging and motivating for the automobile. Classrooms are a little old style. The campus is neat and clean. Food provided by the canteen is ok. The campus is small compared to other colleges. Hostel accommodation is good, and mess food has improved over time but is little expensive.

Faculty: The faculty is moderate. The college can rope in some highly talented professionals. Lack of industry exposure for both students and faculty. The intake to the Automobile course is 60 seats per year. But there are selected staff who teach very good. The only backdrop is lack of qualified staff.
