Nice environment with quality education.

Placements: For our senior batch, the placements are quite high in recruitment. But, there are lot of companies are arrived in my batch but the number of taking is drastically less compared to my senior batch. There are various staffs working in various streams to get students placed in various companies. If we are good in technical and communication definitely we got placed.

Infrastructure: The atmosphere is so good with lot of trees and grass. There is plenty of gap between each building so that there is no discomfort regarding air. Canteen and bunkshops are available in walkable feet. Xerox shops are also available inside the campus. There is a medical centre for first aid and ambulance service is also available. Fitness center is also one of the great advantage for students to make their life strong.

Faculty: The faculty members are so experienced ones and provide a crisp seminar towards the subject. Be friendly with students and observe carefully to understand where thy are lag. Most of the faculty members are doctorates and the remaining people are the pursuing ones. The syllabus was so nice and the enough one for the age and generation.

Other: There is a cultural event called sankalp has been conducted. Each year symposium have been conducted with respective departments. Sports for inter college students and other college students have been conducted every year.

A nightmare for an engineer.

Placements: Whatever ambition you have in life and whatever specialisation you study, you will be taught C, C++, Java and will be brainwashed to get placed in an IT Software Service company, only to satisfy the placements records of the college. The students get internships on their own and the college doesn;t support the students. The students aren't hired through domain specific interviews. A three-day slot occurs where bulk recruitment takes place.

Infrastructure: The building where production department functions doesn't even have restrooms. No electrical gadget is permitted inside the college campus. If we want to enter the lab, other than the curriculum hours, HOD signature is mandatory. The students are recommended to use the library only before and after the working hours. Even if we fall ill, HOD sign is mandatory to take rest in the medical center. Sports survives only upon the own interests of some remarkable students.

Faculty: The faculty is concerned only about the results and they never think about the students' academic excellence. Most faculty members have poor communication skills. Industrial exposure is not encouraged and students are advised to focus on grades. The course curriculum is totally useless. Whatever you study/gain knowledge, you have to fill all the pages of the Anna University answer sheet booklet; otherwise, you will be failed.

Trend and scenario of Velammal -2017.

Placements: I am a core person, but got placed in an IT company. In Tamil Nadu, the scenario of core companies looking for on-campus placement drive is minimal when compared with the previous year. But we will even get some companies in forthcoming months. The average salary offered is around Rs. 4.5 lpa.

Infrastructure: Our department is said to be born only in 2008. So we are waiting to gain knowledge with some better infrastructure. In our college, infrastructure seems to be average with respect to top colleges in Tamil Nadu. For other departments, it's up to the student to utilise the equipment available in the laboratory.

Faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable up to a certain extent, but not a higher range. But they have come forward with some industry exposure and even we had a chance to visit some industries. The course curriculum as per Anna university. It is still lagging behind when compared to top universities across India.

Other: In Tamilnadu, Velammal seems to be good. On the whole, it's all up to the student how they utilise the infrastructure and faculty. There is good history about Velammal in past years. For sports, Velammal college has had good records in the previous years, but not for our batch. But they encourage us to participate in college sports meet that was held in some other colleges.
