RRB Notification 2024: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) releases RRB notification for various posts in Indian Railways. Some of the most sought-after job notifications of RRBs are Non-Technical Popular Categories, Para Medical Categories, Ministerial and Isolated Categories, Various Posts in level 1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, various posts of Jr. Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and CMA, ALP and Technicians, etc. RRB notification is released in PDF format. RRB Group D notification is released to select eligible candidates for various Level 1 posts in Indian Railways such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical and S&T departments), Pointsman, etc. RRB Group D notification is released on the official website in PDF form. The notification comprises important details related to the exam such as important dates, application process, eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus and more information. Candidates must read the notification before applying to the exam to understand the overall structure of the exam. RRB Group D application form is released along with the notification. RRB NTPC application form is released online. The application fee can be paid online and offline. The application fee for all candidates except the fee concession categories is INR 500 whereas it is INR 250 for PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class.

The application fees for RRB Group D exam are INR 500 for all candidates except the fee concession categories. For PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/Economically Backward Class, the application fees are INR 250. The application fee can be paid online and offline. On appearing in CBT, candidates belonging to reserved categories are given full refund of application fee. Those belonging to unreserved categories are given partial refund of application fee. RRB Group D application fee can be paid online using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/UPI. The application fee can be paid offline by using SBI Challan or post office challan.

 

RRB Notification 2024: Application Form

RRB application form is released online for various exams on the official website. No other mode of application is accepted for the recruitment exam. The application form comprises various parts. The application fee can be paid both online and offline. The application fee is INR 500 except for all fee concession categories. Q:   How many candidates apply for RRB Group D exam?

A:
A large number of candidates apply for the RRB Group D exam conducted by RRBs. In 2022, a total of 1.15 crore candidates had applied for the exam against 1,03,769 vacancies. RRB Group D application form is released online by RRBs. The application process comprises several stages such as registration, uploading of scanned photograph and signature, filling the detailed application form and fee payment.
 

Q:   What is RRB NTPC selection process?

A:
RRB NTPC selection process comprises various stages such as CBT 1, CBT 2, CBAT/CBTST, document verification and medical exam. The post-wise selection process is given below: First stage CBT, second stage CBT & Computer-based Aptitude Test is conducted for the posts of Station Master and Traffic Assistant. Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. First stage CBT, Second stage CBT and Typing Skill Test are conducted for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper. Candidates need to appear for document verification and medical examination. For Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice, two-stage CBT is conducted, followed by document verification and medical examination.
 

Q:   Does RRB NTPC also conduct interviews for level 2,3,4,5 and 6?

A:
According to government notification, there will be no interviews at the Group C and Group D level post recruitment. The RRB NTPC recruits for Group C level posts in railways; there will be no interviews for the RRB NTPC at levels 2, 3,4,5, and 6. The selection process for NTPC is as follows: 1. First Stage Computer Based Test, 2. Second-stage computer-based test 3. The third stage is a typing skill test or a computer-based aptitude test, depending on the post. 4. Finally, document verification and a medical examination will be done after shortlisting aspirants.

Exams Exam Pattern

RRB Group D

RRB Group D exam comprises CBT and PET followed by document verification. The CBT comprises objective-type questions from General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The total mark for the test is 100.

RRB NTPC

The exam pattern is divided into the first stage CBT, second stage CBT, CBAT and typing skill test. The first and second stage CBTs comprise objective-type questions spread over three sections. The test paper for the first stage of CBT will have 100 questions while the second stage of CBT will have 120 questions. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. The CBAT is conducted for a few posts where candidates are given different test batteries consisting of five-six tests. Typing skill test is also specific to the posts. Candidates are given to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Computer.

RRB ALP

The first stage of CBT of RRB ALP comprises four sections. The total marks of the test are 75. The duration of the test is 60 minutes.

The second stage of CBT is divided into two parts. Part A comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness and Current Affairs. Part B questions are relevant to the trade.

CBAT which is conducted for Assistant Loco Pilot Post comprises five test batteries. Candidates need to score at least 42 in each test battery.

RRB JE

The first stage of CBT comprises four sections. The total mark of the test is 100. The duration of the test is 90 minutes.

The second stage of CBT comprises General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control, and Technical Abilities. The total marks for the test are 150. The duration of the test is 120 minutes.

Q:   What is the job profile for RRB Group D?

A:

The recruitment of RRB Group D includes various technical and non-technical posts. The job profiles differ as per the hierarchy level of different railway departments. Candidates who join RRB Group D based on their performances are promoted to higher posts. Also, candidates become eligible for departmental examinations after three years of service. The job profile of RRB Group D is given below:

  • Candidates appointed to the post of RRB Group D are responsible for partial or complete disassembly of the item
  • Candidates are assigned to inspect the damaged, defective or worn parts
  • Candidates are responsible for repair or replacement of damaged parts
  • Candidates are responsible for testing, and trial run prior to returning the item to its full operating level
 

Q:   What is RRB NTPC exam pattern for CBT 1?

A:

The first stage CBT of RRB NTPC comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test paper carries a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The first stage CBT is qualifying in nature. The test carries 100 marks. The exam is held for 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by scribe). The structure of RRB NTPC exam pattern for CBT 1 is given below.

Q:   Is there minimum qualifying marks in RRB NTPC exam?

A:

Yes, there is a minimum qualifying cut off in RRB NTPC exam. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks. Besides, cut off marks, candidates are also required to secure the qualifying marks as per their categories. Candidates need to secure the qualifying marks in CBTs and CBAT inorder to qualify the exam. The CBT 1 comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the CBT 1 are 100. The CBT 2 comprises questions from General Questions Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Total marks allotted to the test are 120.

Age Limit: 18 to 33 years

Educational Qualification: The minimum education qualification for candidates applying to the technical departments is Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Signal & Telecom departments) and catering wing of Railways will be a Class 10 pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by National Council for Vocational Training or Class 10 pass plus ITI.

RRB NTPC

Age Limit: The age limit for the undergraduate post is 18 to 30 years. The age limit for the graduate post is 18 to 33 years.

Educational Qualification:

  • For undergraduate posts, candidates must have passed Class 12
  • For graduate posts, candidates must have passed the graduation

RRB JE

Age Limit: 18 to 33 years

Educational Qualification 

  • JE Post: An applicant must have three years Diploma in Civil Engineering/Mechanical/ Production/ Automobile / Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engineering/ Control/ Tools & Machining/ Tools & Die Making/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or B.Sc in Civil Engineering from a Recognized University/Institute.
  • DMS: Applicants need to complete a three-year Diploma in Engineering from any govt. recognized university or equivalent.
  • JE (IT): Candidates must have PGDCA / B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ BCA/ B.Tech. (Information Technology)/ B.Tech. (Computer Science)/ DOEACC ‘B’ level course of three years duration or equivalent.
  • CMA: Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum 55 per cent marks

RRB ALP

Age Limit: 18 to 28 years

Educational Qualification:

  • ALP: Must have passed Class 10/SSLC & ITI/Course Completed Act Apprentices or Diploma/Degree in Engineering
  • Technician: Completed Class 10/SSLC plus ITI/ Course Completed Act Apprentices or 10+2 with Physics and Maths or Diploma in Engineering
