The average salary offered to the graduating class of 2025 pursuing BTech at the National Institute of Technology Patna was INR 9.90 LPA. More than 100 companies visited the college campus for hiring and extended 505 offers to the graduating batch. 

As per the NIRF report 2025, NIT Patna BTech median salary stood at INR 8 LPA for 579 graduates. The placement rate was 82.47% for the BTech programme which had a batch size of 702 students, despite the fact that 77 students opted for higher studies.

The cut off ranks have changed from 22266 to 21654 for OBC, 79063 to 56352 for SC, 1884 to 70929 for ST, 18577 to 18303 for EWS, 415 to 292 for PWD. Candidates seeking admission to the MCA course offered at NIT Patna must have a BCA degree from a recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination.

The NIT Patna cutoff 2026 was released for the first round for different All India quota categories. The cutoff was published in the form of opening and closing ranks based on the students' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam. 

As per the table above, admission in the first round to the BTech CSE branch was the most competitive for the PWD AI category. This is because the PWD AI category had the lowest round 1 rank among all.

NIT Patna PhD admission is entrance-based. Students are selected through a Screening Test + Interview basis. During the screening test, CAT/ GATE/ IIT JAM/ UGC NET/ JEST score are also considered. Any student not clearing the PI round will be disqualified.
