No, Anna University's admission to the MBA course is not based on CAT scores. Admission to the Anna university Chennai MBA course is based on Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). Anna University itself conducts the state-level entrance exam to admit students to several postgraduate courses such as MBA, ME/ MTech, MPlan and MCA. As per the latest update, Anna University is expected to release the TANCET result in April.

The MBA course is offered via affiliated colleges of Anna University, wherein the last round cutoff score for MBA admission stood at 5641 for Selvam Educational Institutions, 5632 for Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management and 5615 for M.A.M. Business School, Tiruchirappalli, for the students belonging to the General AI quota.

If your Andhra Pradesh EAMCET rank is 29000 and you belong to the General HS category, then you might be able to get a seat for the BE course. Yes, the university does accepts JEE Marks for admission to BTech courses. Admission into BTech courses at Anna University-affiliated colleges, several entrance examinations are accepted, including JEE Main, AEEE, IMU CET, and TNEA Counselling. Hence, candidates who have secured a decent scores in any one of these entrance examination are allowed to apply for BTech course at university, and students who qualify the cutoff list/ merit list can get a seat in the programme. 

Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, the conducting body of TANCET Counselling conducts the process online. The TANCET counseling process involves several steps with a physical document verification round. Step-wise process for TANCET counseling is as follows:

Anna University exam dates change every year. In the past two exam sessions, Anna University has been conducting the TANCET exam in March for MBA and MCA courses.
