MAH HM CET 2026 Exam Pattern - BHMCT
Qualifying the MAH BHMCT CET will lead to admission in all Government Aided Institutes and all Un-Aided MHMCT in Institutes of Maharashtra offering 4 years bachelor of hotel management and catering technology course. The exam pattern for this common entrance test is as follows:
- Mode: The exam is held as a Computer-based test
- Language of the question: All questions in the exam are asked in English only
- Total number of questions: The exam shall have a total of 100 questions
- Total marks: The maximum number of marks in the exam is 100
- Negative marking: There is no negative marking in the exam
- Marks per question: Each question in the exam carries 1 mak
- Time duration: Candidates have to finish the exam in 90 mins

Admission to PG Hotel Management and Catering Technology offered by all the Government-Aided Institutes and all Un-Aided MHMCT in the Institutes of Maharashtra is based on MAH MHMCT CET. The exam pattern of the test is as follows:

The MAH HM CET exam pattern includes various question types. Candidates should know the instructions for MAH HM CET, which is a computer-based exam, as given below:
Selecting the answers: All the questions will have multiple choices. Out of the five answers to a question, only one will be the correct answer. The candidate has to select the most appropriate answer and ‘mouse click’ that alternative that he/ she feels is appropriate/correct. The alternative/option that is clicked on will be treated as the answer to that question. Answers to any question will be considered for final evaluation, only when candidates have submitted the answers by clicking on “Save & Next” or “Mark for Review & Next”.
The question palette and its importance: The question palette at the right of the screen shows one of the following statuses of each of the questions numbered
Changing answer to a question: To change an answer to a question, first select the question and then click on the new answer option followed by a click on the Save & Next button.
Time: After the expiry of the exam time, the candidates will not be able to attempt any question or check their answers. The clock has been set at the server and the countdown timer at the top right corner of your screen will display the time remaining for you to complete the exam. When the clock runs out the exam ends by default - you are not required to end or submit your exam.
Use of the system for CBT: The candidates are only allowed to use the mouse to select answers and other options. Under no circumstances should a candidate click on any of the ‘keyboard keys’ once the exam starts as this will lock the exam.
