It is one of the best philosophy departments in India.
Placements: Most students pursue M.A. and sit for NET/SET to be eligible for JRF and lecturer posts. The university exchange program is conducted by the authority with other foreign universities for one or two semesters. Students can also complete their M.Phil and PhD here by interview fulfilling the required qualifications.
Infrastructure: In case of infrastructure, the whole department has its own four-storeyed building. Wi-Fi facilities are always available, and classrooms are neat and clean. The library is good. The hostel is huge, and the rooms are average as it is a government hostel, and the quality of food is average. The university has ambulance facilities 24/7, and students can engage themselves in sports and games activities as huge grounds are available.
Faculty: The teachers are from very humble backgrounds, and they are very helpful. Teachers-students meetings are held regularly. Teachers organize different seminars from time to time to make our understanding of the subject better. This course curriculum is very much relevant to understand the perception or knowledge of the world in its true sense. Several schools of philosophy are there in Indian Philosophy, in Western Philosophy, there is Kant, Hegel, Russell etc. This course makes students understand different levels of philosophies established in the world, and rich academic careers are there. The semester exams are moderate to hard. The percentage is 40% as it is an honors course.
Other: I chose this course as it has rich faculty and for the campus life the university provides. UGC organises research works, and there are many reasons to opt for this course. Fests are organized by the students union with the help of university authorities. Four faculty departments are there for arts, science, engineering and ISLM, so the crowd in places like canteens and other areas are high and also enjoyable. Departmental picnics are organized every year. Scholarships and full fee waivers are available for the required students.

Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 70% students are placed last year. Salary structure is very well. Many students become teachers, professors in noted schools, colleges and universities every year. Every year, some conference programs are arrange by the faculty. Students join in the programme. It helps us.
Infrastructure: There are some good canteens in the campus of Jadavpur University. The quality of food is well in the canteens. Wi-Fi facilities are available in the campus. There is a ground in the campus where various games and sports are held on the various occasion. The classrooms are well decorated. Hostel rooms are also well decorated. Medical facilities are available here.
Faculty: Our teachers are very good, qualified knowledgeable and helpful. Infrastructure of our faculty is well. Modern technology are used to teach. There are a lot of students in our department. Total student strength is 200 above in Philosophy department of Jadavpur University. Many students come here from overseas every year.
Other: Many scholarships are available here. Many events, cultural programs are arrange in the campus every year.
