Crack the LPUNEST exam effortlessly with these tips
By: Ambika Sur
Understand the syllabus completely and give focus on covering all the topics to crack the competitive exam effortlessly.
Lovely Professional University National Eligibility Test (LPUNEST) is conducted annually to verify the student’s eligibility and give scholarship to the students according to their eligibility. The registration process is going on, however, the dates are yet to be notified based on the government’s announcements regarding global pandemic COVID-19. The time is challenging and exam dates have been postponed accordingly. In my opinion, this lockdown is the best time to prepare and ace the exam.
Before starting with some preparation tips, the first and foremost step is to go through and know the syllabus thoroughly. The LPU NEST for the Law school has four primary sections and few sub-sections. The details of the same are given below:
1. English – Basic English is compulsory for almost every entrance exam which consists of Speech, Tense, and Verbs. This section comprises of three more sub-sections:
-
- Associative language skills – Antonyms, synonyms, one-word substitution, word analogies, idioms, and phrases
- Common errors – Sentence correction and finding of the errors
- Comprehension passages – Close or open paragraphs
2. Quantitative and Logical Aptitude – This primary section consists of further three sub-sections
-
- Elementary Mathematics up to Class 10
- Logical reasoning – Pattern identification, logical links, logical arguments, syllogism, logical sequences, analogies, etc.
3. Legal Reasoning – This section includes the course content. The candidate must be aware of the legal terms, the Constitution of India and many other legal aspects to attempt the section successfully.
4. General Awareness – All the questions related to general knowledge are asked under this section.
I have discussed the syllabus in brief, the entire content is available on the university’s official website.
Scoring topic – As the students are preparing for the test after their school so, we can consider that the idea about the legal aspects, legal terms/ content is still new for most of you. So, to be on a safe side I would advise making the English and Quantitative Logical Aptitude sections very strong as every student has a fair idea of the content of these sections. Then, pay some attention to the General Awareness section without considering it a part of the syllabus. To prepare for this section, go through the newspaper and magazines or install any app dedicated to general awareness and practise from that daily.
Let’s now discuss the critical part of the exam, i.e. the Legal Reasoning. According to me, after school, this section is comparatively new to most of the students. So, the students have to strategise and spend maximum time to prepare for the same. After going through the syllabus, get an idea about the content and their sources and prepare notes as it would help later as well.
Regular revision is a key step towards success. Every student should revise each concept thoroughly. This would make the concepts clear and enhance the performance exceptionally. This lockdown period should be used very wisely to crack the competitive exam. Due to the lockdown, the distractions like going out and hanging out with friends, a random visit of guests, etc. could not create hindrance in the study time. Trust me, by following the few simple steps as mentioned in the article and adding up some of the creativity to the preparation process will do wonders in the upcoming LPU NEST exam.

SRM has a stronger reputation in South India, especially for engineering, but for management LPU actually ranks better nationally and the placements are more diverse with bigger companies coming to campus. SRM's recruiters tend to be more South Indi
