The Institute Level Round for the MH CET Law 2025 is ongoing for the candidates who couldn't secure a seat during the initial rounds of counselling. The MHCET Law Institute Level Counselling takes place for admission to both, the three year LLB and five year LLB. The merit list will be displayed for the selected candidates on the notice board of the colleges or the CAP portal. The selected candidates will be required to visit the allocated college for seat confirmation and document verification as per the schedule. 

The Institute Level Round is the last round for counselling in Maharashtra CET Law and candidates securing seats in these rounds will be final. Check below the counselling schedule, process, alphabetical and final merit lists, list of documents required and seat allotment.

MH CET Law Counselling 2025

The MHCET law 2025 counselling process is explained in brief below:

  1. Online Registration - candidates who qualify the Maharashtra LAWCET exam will have to register online and upload the relevant documents to participate in the counselling process through the MHCET cell official website- cetcell.mahacet.org
  2. Document Verification - The admission committee will e-verify the uploaded documents and the information entered by the candidate at the time of filling the application form. Only such candidates who complete the verification process will be considered for the next step.
  3. Publication of Alphabetical Merit List - The names and details of the candidates who register for the particular round of counselling will be displayed for candidates to verify the correctness of the information recorded. 
  4. Submission of Grievances - Any candidate who has any objection to the alphabetical merit list is allowed to challenge it within a given schedule. 
  5. Publication of Final Merit List - The final list will be published after making any corrections to the provisional list, after considering objections by candidates. The merit list will include the names of candidates shortlisted for the counselling and seat allotment process.
  6. College Option Form Filling: Candidates will be given opportunity to make choices of the colleges for admission as per their preferences. 
  7. Allotment of Seats - Finally, seats will be allocated by considering: 

    1) MH CET Law 2025 merit rank of the candidate, and

    2) College options picked at the time of counselling registration.

  8. Freeze and Float Option: Candidates will have the choice to either 'freeze' the college allocated to them or 'float' for betterment in next round.

Note: There will be two to three rounds of CAP. If there are any seats that lie vacant after CAP allotment rounds, then such seats will be filled at an institutional level by respective law colleges. The total seats for MH CET 5-year LLB 2025 course are around 11,480 available in the 153 participating colleges, however, for 3-year LLB, around 19,780 seats are available in 201 colleges.

What is MH CET Law Exam?

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law is conducted for admissions to Law courses offered at participating Law colleges in Maharashtra. The MH CET Law exam is conducted in an online mode for two hour duration. The question paper will have 120 multiple-choice questions. Through the entrance exam, Law aspirants are shortlisted for admissions to 10,860 seats (excluding management intake) for the 5-year LLB program and around 16,420 seats for the 3-year LLB courses programmes.

Steps to apply for MH CET Law exam

  • Visit the official website of Maharastra CET
  • Click on "New Registration" tab to register for the MH CET Law exam. 
  • Already registered candidates need to click on the "Already Registered" tab and proceed with the application process. 
  • After completing the MH CET Law registration, log in again. 
  • Fill out the MH CET Law application form. 
  • Upload your passport-size photo and signature. 
  • Submit the application fee. 
  • Save, review and then submit the application form.

Candidates will have to meet the eligibility for admission to their desired course as per the official notification. 

5-Year LLB Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates seeking admission to five-year integrated LLB courses through the Maharashtra state entrance exam need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.
  • They should have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination/ Intermediate Examination from any recognised educational institution under the state board or national board of education. 
  • SC/ ST category candidates should have secured 40% marks in aggregate. 

3-Year LLB Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidates must have passed the graduation exam in any discipline.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying exams in the exam year may also apply.
  • The general category candidates must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 45% marks.
  • SC/ST candidates mus have a minimum aggregate score of 40%.

The MH CET admit card 2025 for 5-year LLB course is available to download. The MH CET Law admit card will be the same as the MH CET Law hall ticket. Follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Click on the "Download Admit Card CET - 2025" option. 
  • A new login window will be visible to you. 
  • Log in to this window using for MH CET Law application number, date of birth, and the provided security code (Captha Code).

MH CET Law Exam Day Instructions 2025

To take the MH CET Law 2025, candidates must follow the instructions mentioned below:

  • Candidates appearing for the law entrance exam should report their allotted test centre at least an hour before the scheduled exam timings. 
  • They should carry MHCET Law 2025 admit card (one extra copy) along with one valid photo ID proof such as Voter ID card, Driving License, Aadhaar Card or Enrollment Number, School ID/ College ID proof etc. 
  • Candidates should also carry two ballpoint pens either in blue colour or black colour as required to mark their answers on the OMR answer sheet.
  • Candidates should follow the instructions mentioned on the admit card as well as the instructions by exam centre authority. 
  • Candidates should not carry any valuables or prohibited items to their exam centres such as mobile phones, calculators, watches, earphones/ headphones, study material etc.
