GIS and Remote Sensing Laws is a specialized course offered as an Advanced Diploma program. The discipline deals with the GIS technology which is utilized for capturing, storing and analyzing geographical data on the earth. Eligibility Criteria 

  • Students can pursue the course after Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Students who are undergraduate in Law (3 year or 5 year course) are also eligible to apply.  
  • The diploma course is divided into 2 semesters, with each semester requiring minimum credits to be completed.  
  • Students are expected to put in a minimum of 30 hours to earn each credit.  The candidates are also required to make submission of assignments and final project at the end of the course to successfully complete the program.

Top Colleges in India Offering Advanced Diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing Laws 

Currently only National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad is offering the Advanced Diploma Program in two semesters. It is being offered through its Directorate of Distance Education. The course is very popular amongst professionals seeking to enhance their technical skills and carve a niche in Communications and Technology Law.  

The program is based in hybrid mode wherein the students have to attend 5 days per semester in Hyderabad as part of Personal Contact Program. Thereafter the candidates shall attend online lectures and work on projects and submit their assignments via online mode. Enrolled candidates shall also receive the self-learning materials for better understanding of the subject.  

Assignments and projects are an integral part of the program as it is a specialized course. The concerned subject faculties will provide guidance during offline and online sessions. By the end of the advanced diploma course, every candidate must submit six projects/assignments to the concerned department. Once the candidate completes the course, the access provided through the website shall be deactivated. Every candidate must try to complete the program in minimum duration.  

Semester I begins from July of the session and the examination is held in the month of November-December. There is also provision for repeat examinations which is held in the month of February- March of the next year. Semester II begins from January of next year and the examinations are held during month of May. Repeat examination for the second semester is also held, which is during August and September. By July, the results for advanced diploma course are declared. The university also provides provision for re-evaluation.
