CLAT 2023 Colleges - Being the pre-eminent law entrance exam in the country, the CLAT exam attracts the highest number of test-takers. But the problem with many students is they aren't aware of the full scope of the CLAT score. For example, while it is common knowledge that CLAT 2023 scores will be used for admission to 5-year integrated and one-year LLM programs offered by the NLUs. But, there are many other private, self-financed law colleges that also accept CLAT scores. This means if you manage to secure even a decent rank or marks in the CLAT 2023 exam, you have a chance of getting admission to one of these colleges even if you miss out on an NLU. The good thing is many of these colleges, especially the affiliate colleges, have some popular names like Amity University, Bennet University, and GGSIU.

Even among the participating NLUs, there is great diversity as far as seat intake and reservation criteria are concerned. Only recently, RGNUL has updated its seat matrix and introduced the EWS category for UG and PG. Further, a New category – Backward Category of Punjab has been added for UG.

CLAT 2023: Law Schools Accepting CLAT Scores
There are three types of law schools that will accept CLAT 2023 scores to provide admission to their undergraduate and postgraduate courses:
CLAT Colleges 2023 - Participating NLUs
There are a total of 24 NLUs that are participating institutes of CLAT 2023.
- 5-year LLB - The integrated law program is offered by all the 24 NLUs, with the seat intake standing at 3,213 seats.
- One-year LLM - The program is offered by 21 NLUs, which have a combined intake of 1,217 seats.
Affiliate Colleges of CLAT 2023
These colleges have signed MOUs with the consortium and use CLAT 2023 scores for admission purposes. However, unlike the NLUs, affiliate colleges may also offer admission based on other entrance exams. For instance, while GITAM University uses CLAT scores, it also conducts its own entrance exam, the GITAM GAT. In all, there are 61 affilates that are listed on the consortium website; to check the official list - Click Here
Other Private law colleges
Unlike the affiliate colleges which have signed an MOU, some colleges that haven't signed any MOU may still use CLAT 2023 scores for admission purposes. The colleges that fall in this category may fluctuate the most in terms of their academic abilities as we move from one college to the next. So, you need to do robust R&D before you get admission into any of them.
