In the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) there are two papers - Paer 1 and 2. It is a bit tough to crack the FTII JET exam because FTII is the premier film making school in India and aspirants from all over India apply for this coveted exam making the competition a bit tough. To pass through the competition candidates will have to make a proper exam strategy and allot equal time to covering the whole syllabus, solving the question papers and leave good time for revision. In the FTII JET exam students will be judged on their intellectual skills, general studies, English, general knowledge and the prescribed syllabus.
FTII JET Exam Analysis
According to the students who appeared for the FTII JET last year at the various test centres in India, the overall difficulty of the entrance exam was moderate. The questions were asked from the prescribed syllabus, while some were asked on current affairs in the general aptitude test. As per the feedback provided by the students, the long descriptive answers were a bit tougher than expected. Students found the MCQs simple, but answering the long questions was time-consuming.

There is a cut off which is defined after the exam is conducted. The FTII JET cut off is defined based on various factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, total number of applicants who appeared in the exam and the shifts under which the exam is conducted. Candidates who score equal to or more than the FTII JET cut off will qualify in the exam. As far as the minimum passing marks of FTII JET varies, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission in FTII for General Category is 50% for General category while that for OBC NCL category is 45%.
As per the admission process of JET exam, candidates first need to quaify in teh FTII JETe exam and subsequent rounds of the Orientation / Interview process. On the basis of performance in JET, the list of candidates shortlisted for the next level of selection will be made available on the website of the Institute. The institute will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. Students final selection will be based on their JET scores, and performance in the orientation & interviews rounds. The criteria for short listing may vary for different courses for this regard canddiates are advised to check the official notification in detail as well as the counselling page of FTII JET exam.
FTII JET 2025 Marking Scheme
FTII JET holds a total of 100 marks, which is divided into two papers. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks on wrong answers in Paper I as it is an objective type.

For Paper I Part B:
(a) Each question will have FOUR options. The questions can have one or more than one correct answer option.
(b) For each question, candidates will choose the option(s) corresponding to (all) the correct answer (s)
(c) Answers to each question will be evaluated according to the following scheme;
(i) Full Marks: +2 if only (all) the correct option (s) is (are) chosen
(ii) Partial Marks: +1.5 if all the four options are correct but ONLY three correct options are chosen
(iii) Partial Marks: +1 If three or more options are correct but ONLY two options are chosen, both of which are correct.
(iv) Partial Marks: +0.5 If two or more options are correct but ONLY one option is chosen and it is the correct option.
(v) Zero Marks: 0 if none of the options is chosen (i.e. the question is unanswered).
(vi) Negative Marks: – 0.25 in all other cases.

Candidates who qualify in the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test will be called for the orientation and interview process or audition round (for screen acting). Candidates will be shortlisted for the second round based on the scores secured in the entrance test. After that the final result will be released. Once the results are declared, candidates will be then alloted the course as per their interest and ranks.
