FTII JET 2026 Counselling Process
The counselling process at Film and Television Institute of India begins after FTII JET result is released on official website. Know the steps of counselling below:
- Candidates with their names in the final merit list have to secure their seat by paying Seat Acceptance Fee of INR 50, 000 before last date.
- If a student fails to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee amount by last date, their seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate. That candidate will also have to pay the fee amount.
- After that, candidates will have to get their documents verified by the institute.
- Once a candidate's Document Verification is done, FTII will conduct a Medical Test as the final step of FTII JET selection process. If a candidate fails in this test, the institute has the right to reject the admission of that student.
Note: The Seat Acceptance Fee amount is later adjusted from the course fee amount, provided the candidate gets admission at FTII, Pune.

Candidates who qualify in the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test will be called for the orientation and interview process or audition round (for screen acting). Candidates will be shortlisted for the second round based on the scores secured in the entrance test. After that the final result will be released. Once the results are declared, candidates will be then alloted the course as per their interest and ranks.
If you have not completed your graduation or if you are waiting for your graduation results during FTII JET exam, you can still appear for test. But, you will have to submit proof of graduation qualification during document verification process. If you fail to do so, your application will be rejected, no matter if you qualify the test.
After the FTII JET result is declared, candidates who qualified in the test will be called for the further rounds of selection which is interview or audition depending upon which course they have applied for. No, there is no such provision for re-evaluation provided by the exam conducting authority for the FTII JET result. However, if candidates find any issue with their answer sheet they can request a review of their answer scripts within a specified time frame after the result declaration but the chances of redressal is very low.
As per admission process of FTII JET entrance exam, candidates who wish to get admission at this institute have to appear for 2 stages. Students who are selected in first stage can take Stage 2 exam. It is possible to crack Stage 1 of FTII JET exam through self-study as it is a written exam. However, cracking FTII JET stage 2 exam with self-study is not possible. The stage 2 exam includes practical assessment of a candidate through screenacting and screenwriting. For these exams, it is advised that a candidate take help and guidance from teacher, guide, peer, seniors, coaching institute, etc.
FTII JET is conducted for admission to various courses in Film and TV wing. The difficulty level of FTII JET is moderate as compared to other government entrance exams for admission to mass communication and media courses. However, the difficulty level for a candidate differs based on their preparation level.
There is no ideal time for candidates to prepare for FTII JET exam. As there are two stages in exam which are conducted in different months and have different criteria, their required preparation time are different.
