IIM Sirmaur Admission Policy 2026-2028 - The institute will be selected for admission through IIM CAP 2026. The qualifying CAT cut offs for PI shortisting has been released by IIM CAP 2026 coordinating institute, IIM Bodhgaya. The minimum qualifying CAT 2025 cut offs for PI shortlisting is 95 percentile for General category students, 81 percentile for EWS and NC-OBC, 66 for SC and 42 for SC/DAP students. The IIM CAP 2026 form is out and candidates can fill the PI shortlist form now. 

Weightage allotted to CAT exam score for preparation of final merit list will be 50, this year. Fifteen points more than last year. PI round performance will carry 25 points.There will be on Written Ability Test or WAT, this year. Read below for detailed IIM Sirmaur Selection Criteria of previous year for reference.

IIM CAP Registration Process 2026

Candidates can apply for IIM CAP with the help of their CAT login ID. They have to select 3 cities for PI round. Check steps to follow:

  • Log on to IIM CAP 2026 website
  • Click on the link indicating CAP 2026
  • Enter CAT ID and password
  • Fill the CAP form, upload EOI and relevant documents and click on submit

Last date to submit Expression Of Interest (EOI) is January 25, 2026. Those who will make it to Stage 2 of IIM CAP 2026, will have to pay fee amount of INR 2000 (General/NC-OBC/EWS) and INR 1000 (SC/ST/PwD).

The CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore hovers between 97-100 percentile. The qualifying CAT cut off required for being eligible for IIM Bangalore's Written Ability test (What) and Personal Interview PI is 85 percentile for General category students, whereas for SC candidates, it is 70 percentile. Q:   What is the difference between qualifying CAT cut off and final CAT cut off?
A: 
Qualifying CAT cut off percentiles of an IIM is the minimum percentile (sectional as well as overall) required by candidates to be eligible for the Written Ability Test (What) and Personal Interview PI round. These are only eligibility score and not the score for selection. The final CAT cut off percentiles are the scores on the basis of which a candidate is actually selected for the What-PI round. The qualifying CAT cut offs are released publically before the CAT exam and result as a part of selection criteria for the MBA/PGP batch of that year. The qualifying cut offs for CAT are release category wise - General, NC/OBC. General-EWS, SC/ST, PwD. The qualifying cut offs percentiles of General category candidate is higher than then rest. The final CAT cut offs are not released publically. The cut offs are estimate on the basis of candidate's selection for What-PI. The final CAT cut offs for General category candidate is also higher than then rest.
Q:   How many CAT mock tests to practice to score 99 percentile?
A: 
Experts recommend that aspirants must practice at least 40 CAT mock tests to score above 99 percentile well in the exam. Most of the CAT test takers take up to 50 mock tests of various types and difficulty level. CAT toppers in previous years have practiced even up to 80 mock tests during their preparation. However, candidates must decide the number of CAT mock tests depending on their control and confidence on topics as the exam day comes closer. Mock tests are the best way to judge your performance viz. The important topics of CAT. The more one practices CAT mock tests, the more accurate they get in solving questions from all subjects. IIM Sirmaur Admission Process 2026-2028

IIM Sirmaur followed the Common Admission Procedure (CAP) under which the Personal Interview (PI) round of IIM Bodh GayaIIM Jammu, and IIM Sirmaur, will be conducted commonly. The components of CAP for all the above mentioned institutes are common namely, scaled CAT score, WAT-PI, Class 12 marks, Graduation marks, work experience and diversity (academic and gender).

IIM Sirmaur Admission Criteria 2026-28 included three steps:

  • Shortlisting candidates on the basis of CAT score
  • Common Admission Process (Personal Interview)
  • Preparation of final selection list on the basis of each candidate’s Composite Score

According to IIM Sirmaur admission criteria, those who will meet the CAT cut offs mentioned above, will be eligible to appear in  the PI round. However, it does not guarantee the interview call. Post the PI round, the performance of each candidate will be evaluated. The final selection list will be prepared on the basis of each candidate’s composite score.

IIM Sirmaur reserves 40 of seats for female students. The first preference would be given to the qualified female candidates through the IIM CAP 2026 process.

Upon selection, the candidate receives admission offer from IIM Sirmaur in an email by April-May, following which the candidate has to confirm acceptance of admission offer by filling the offer acceptance form and paying the requisite fee. The fee amount is adjusted against first installment of admission fee or refunded in case any candidate decides to not seek admission. INR 1,000 will be deducted as processing charges.
