NMAT 2020 Analysis

NMAT 2020 exam has commenced from November 4. The exam will be conducted over a window of 88-days, till January 30, 2021. The exam pattern and structure have also undergone massive changes this year. According to the NMAT 2020 analysis, the difficulty level of the overall exam was easy to moderate. In terms of sectional difficulty level, Quantitative Skills section was the toughest followed by Language Skills. Logical Reasoning was the easiest section. In this article of Shiksha, we bring to you a detailed analysis of NMAT 2020.

NMAT 2020 Section-wise Analysis

Quantitative Skills

The questions of the Quantitative Skills section were on Mathematics, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency areas. Majority of the questions were on Arithmetic. Permutation & Combination, Probability and Logarithms were the other prominent topics of this section. There were no questions asked from the Geometry topic. There were around three to four sets on Data Interpretation.

Logical Reasoning

The difficulty level of the Logical Reasoning section was easy. While most of the questions were set-based, there were some stand-alone questions as well. Around half of the questions were from the topics of Argument, Verbal Reasoning, Input-Output and Deduction. Rest of the questions were on Puzzles, Syllogism, Blood Relations, Seating Arrangement, etc.

Language Skills

The Language Skills section was of moderate to tough difficulty level. The topics from which the questions were asked were Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Parajumbles, Analogy-based questions and Grammar. There were around two to three Reading Comprehension passages of 400 to 500 words each. The Vocabulary questions were easy. There were three to four sets of questions on Analogy. The Para jumble questions were moderate to tough. The number of Grammar-based questions was least among all.

Candidates can view their results within 48 hours of taking the test. Based on the scores of their original attempt, they can decide whether they want to opt for retakes. NMAT candidates can take the test thrice, including two retakes. Best of the three scores will be considered by the accepting B-schools.
