NIRF Ranking 2023 Medical Colleges: AIIMS Delhi maintains Topmost position for sixth time
NIRF Ranking of medical colleges are announced on June 5, 2023, along with other categories of institutes. AIIMS is once again at the top position in the medical category followed by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PRIMER), Christian Medical College, and more.
The eighth edition of the NIRF Ranking 2023 Medical Colleges was announced on June 5, 2023. The Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh has announced the rankings for various categories. NIRF Ranking of Medical Colleges announced by the minister has once again put the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS New Delhi) at the topmost position for the sixth time in a row.

NIRF Ranking 2023: Top 5 medical colleges in India Details
- AIIMS Delhi: The premier medical college of India, AIIMS Delhi, is at the topmost position again for the sixth time. It offers undergraduate programmes such as BSc, B.Optom, and MBBS and postgraduate programmes such as MSc, MD, MS, and PhD. To take admission to the MBBS programme, the candidates must have cleared the NEET entrance exam and to take admission into the PG programmes such as MD, MS, DM (6 years), MCh, and MDS courses, the candidates must qualify for the INI-CET Entrance Exam.
 - Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER): The institute is placed at the second position in NIRF Ranking 2023 list under the medical category. It provides education, medical research, and training facilities for its students in all specialities, super specialities and subspecialties. To take admission into MD/ MS/ MCh/ DM/ MDS courses at PGIMER, one must appear in and qualify for the INI CET entrance exam.
 - Christian Medical College Vellore:The medical college secured the third position in the NIRF Ranking 2023. It is one of the top-ranked educational, healthcare and research institutes in the country. As a strictly not-for-profit society, all available funds are used to subsidise student education, said Christian Medical College Vellore's official site. CMC Vellore offers DM and MCh courses at the Super Speciality level.
 - National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences, Bangalore: NIMHANS Bangalore is in the fourth position in NIRF Ranking 2023 Medical Colleges. The institute offers a list of courses at the UG, PG, Super Speciality and PhD levels across various specialisations. It has 25+ departments, including Neurology, Mental Health Education, Psychiatry, Neurochemistry, Biophysics, Nursing, Human Genetics, Epidemiology, Speech Pathology and Audiology, among others. Candidates seeking admissions to the MD, MS, MCh, DM and MDS courses in this institute must appear in the INI CET exam as the admissions will be based on the INI CET entrance exam only.
 - Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research Puducherry: JIPMER Puducherry is placed at the fifth position in the NIRF Ranking 2023. It offers admission to MBBS, MD, MS, MCh, DM, and MDS courses. The MBBS admissions are given on the basis of the NEET exam and for courses including MD, MS, MCh, DM, and MDS, the admission is based on INI CET scores. JIPMER is among the very few medical institutions in India which provide courses from a range of undergraduate to super speciality & sub-specialities. It also conducts path-breaking research and provides speciality care of high order, said JIPMER's official website.
