Karnataka PGCET 2025: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has extended the last date for PGCET choice filling. Candidates can now access the Karnataka PGCET choice filling window until 11 AM, October 9. Karnataka PGCET seat matrix indicates more than 20,000 MBA seats are to be filled via the Karnataka PGCET counselling process. Soon after the round 1 counselling process concludes, KEA will release Karnataka PGCET round 2 counselling dates.

This year, as many as 18,738 candidates had applied for the Karnataka PGCET MCA exam, whereas MBA recorded a total registration count of 33,282 candidates. Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria for Part-Time MBA

  • In addition to the Karnataka PGCET eligibility for a full-time MBA course, candidates must have a work experience of not less than three years as on July 31, 2025.
  • The establishment or the workplace of the candidate must be within 40 KM radial distance from the institution he/she is seeking admission in.

Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria for Government Seats

Candidates should have studied and passed from a government-recognised educational institution located in Karnataka for a minimum period of seven academic years commencing from 1st standard continuously or in broken period and must have passed class 10th or class 12th from a government-recognised institution located in Karnataka.

OR

The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination from Karnataka. In addition, either of the parents must have studied for a period of seven years in Karnataka

OR

Children of ex-servicemen who had declared a place in Karnataka as their home town at the time of joining the defence services. In addition, such candidates should have passed the qualifying exam from a University or Board located anywhere in India.

Q:   How many test centres are there for Karnataka PGCET exam?
A: 

Karnataka Examinations Authority conducts the PGCET exam every year across multiple cities in the state. While filling the application form, candidates have to choose the test centre preference. KEA will try allocatring a test centre in the prefered exam city. KEA mighty allocate multiple exam centres in one city. In the past exam session candidates had to choose a test city preference among 29 test cities.

Q:   Can I leave exam centre if I complete all questions in Karnataka PGCET before time?
A: 

No. Candidates are not allowed to leave the Karnataka PGCET exam centre before the last bell rings. Immediately after the last bell rings, invigilator will collect the answer sheet and provide a replica of the OMR sheet for future references. Candidates have to sign the sheet before leaving the PGCET exam centre to acknowledge receiving the OMR answer sheet. PGCET has an exam duration of 120 minutes.

Q:   What all documents are required for the exam along with Karnataka PGCET admit card?
A: 

Candidates must carry photo identity proof such as college ID card/ driving license/ PAN card/ Aadhaar Card/ Voters ID card on the exam day along with Karnataka PGCET admit card. candidates must carry a hard copy of the Karnataka PGCET admit card on the exam day along with a valid photo ID proof on the exam day. Failing this, applicants will face denial in entry to the exam hall. Officials at the exam centre verifies the identity of the candidates after looking at the ID proof and the admit card.

Q:   Am I eligible to apply for Karnataka PGCET MBA if I have less than 50 percent in my Bachelors degree?
A: 

A candidate is not eligible to apply for the Karnataka PGCET MBA course if they have less than 50 per cent marks in their bachelor's degree. For reserved category candidates, the minimum requirement is 45 per cent. This percentage must be calculated based on all subjects from all the years of the degree. Without meeting this minimum mark requirement, the application will be rejected. So, it's important to check the final aggregate before applying.

Q:   Is it mandatory to have studied Mathematics at the graduation level to apply for Karnataka PGCET MCA?
A: 

Candidates must have studied Mathematics either at the 10+2 level or during graduation. Candidates from courses like B.Sc., B.A., or B.Com with Mathematics in Class 12 also qualify. Along with this, they need to meet the required aggregate marks. So, as long as the subject was covered in one of the stages, they are eligible

Q:   Can I apply for the part-time MBA via Karnataka PGCET without having any work experience?
A: 

No, candidates cannot apply for the part-time MBA course through Karnataka PGCET if they do not have work experience. The eligibility criteria clearly mention that a minimum of three years of work experience is required. This experience should be in a relevant field after completing the qualifying degree. Candidates must also provide proof of employment. Without fulfilling this requirement, the application for the part-time MBA programme will not be accepted.
