Overview

NEET MDS Counselling 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling for admission to MDS course for All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota seats. The MCC NEET MDS 2026 counselling is expected to begin in June 2026. Those who clear the NEET MDS exam by securing the NEET MDS 2026 cutoff are eligible to participate in the NEET MDS counselling 2026.

The MCC will be the conducting body of NEET MDS counselling. There will be around three to four rounds of counselling. Each round of counselling will have these four stages-

NEET MDS Counselling 2026 Process

The NEET MDS 2026 counselling process will be conducted in online mode, except for the last step, which is institute reporting and document verification. The following flowchart provides a detailed explanation of the NEET MDS counselling process.

Registration

  • To participate in the NEET MDS 2026 counselling, a candidate has to register himself/ herself on the portal of MCC
  • He/ she had to visit the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in and select “MDS Medical Counselling”
  • Now select “New Registration” and proceed with the registration process
  • To register, a candidate needs to enter the following information: NEET MDS roll number, the application number, date of birth, etc.
  • Upon completion of the registration process, the candidate will receive the login credentials for his/ her registered account

Completing the form and filling in the requisite details

  • Candidates now have to fill in the details such as father’s name, address, category, etc., in the registration form and complete it
  • One must note that the details filled in during this stage of registration cannot be changed later, and thus, a candidate must fill in this information carefully

Registration fee

  • After completing the registration form, a candidate needs to pay a non-refundable registration fee
  • Without paying the registration fee, they will not be able to submit the registration form
  • The registration fee for NEET MDS counselling 2026 has to be paid online (Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking)
  • After the payment is processed successfully, a registration slip will be displayed
  • The candidate must print this registration slip and keep it safe for future use

Choice filling and locking of preferences

The choice filling and locking processes are described below.

  • Candidates have to log in into their registered account on the MCC portal
  • They then have to choose from among the choices provided on the left side of the screen
  • To add to the list, select the “+” button provided after every option
  • The option selected by the candidate will move from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen
  • The candidate can also change the order of preference by moving the options up or down in the list
  • Once they are satisfied with the selection, they must click on “Save and continue” followed by “Save and go home page” to exit
  • Take a printout of the choices filled and keep it safe for future reference
  • This process can be repeated after every round and the choices can be edited for the subsequent round

Seat Allotment Result

Based on the choices filled and locked by candidates, MCC releases the seat allotment result for NEET MDS 2026 counselling.

Institute Reporting

Once a candidate accepts the seat allotted to him/her, the next step is to visit the allotted institute to complete the admission process. Unless a candidate completes this step, his/her seat allotment will be revoked. In case candidates wish to upgrade their seats, then they have to resign from the allotted seat and participate in the next round of counselling.

Q:   How many choices can I fill during NEET MDS counselling?
A: 

There is no limit on the number of choices that a candidate can fill during the counselling of NEET MDS. These choices, however, should be in the order of preference as desired by the candidate. It must be noted choices have to be locked in the given deadline other it gets automatically locked. Candidates are advised to fill choices carefully as it can't be modified once the timeframe ends. Seats will be allotted based on choice declared by candidates and other factors. Total four rounds of NEET MDS counselling is held for allotment of 50% All India quota seats.

Q:   Who conducts the NEET MDS Counselling?
A: 

The NEET MDS counselling is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The counselling process is taken over by the MCC after the exam results. The NBE role ends with the release of NEET MDS result and cutoff. The MCC conducts MDS counselling for 50 per cent All India Quota seats and the rest 50 per cent seats quota is filled by the respective state authorities.

 

Q:   I forgot to lock my choices for NEET MDS counselling. Will I get a seat?
A: 

Choice filling in the given deadline is mandatory for seat allotment. If you have filled in the choices and saved them, they will be considered during the seat allotment process. However, if you haven't filled in the choices, you will have to wait till the next round of NEET MDS counselling 2024. Candidates do have to declare choice for college and course in the given timeframe. They also have to lock the choice otherwise it gets automatically locked after the deadline and candidates can't modify them. Seats will be allotted in different counselling rounds based on choice declaration, availability of seats in particular college and course, reservation factor etc.

Yes, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) states that it is necessary to report to the institute first and then opt for resignation. MCC states, "Candidates willing to upgrade from Round 1 to Round 2 have to report at the allotted institute/college with original documents of round 1 and complete the admission formalities. During the completion of admission formalities, if the candidate wishes to upgrade then he/she has to give willingness for upgradation in the college."

Q:   What is the NEET MDS exam for?

NEET MDS Counselling 2026: Documents Required for Institute Reporting

A candidate who is allotted a seat through the NEET MDS 2026 counselling need to report to the allocated institute to verify documents. For confirmation of the seat allocated, he/she needed to carry the following documents

  • NEET MDS scorecard 2026
  • NEET MDS Admit Card 2026
  • BDS degree certificate
  • BDS mark sheets
  • Internship Completion Certificate (stating that the candidate has completed his/ her internship on or before June 30, 2024)

Candidates have to fulfill the following criteria to participate in the NEET MDS counselling Round 2:

At the time of registration for NEET MDS counselling, a candidate needs to pay two kinds of fee, refundable and non refundable.  Non-refundable: A candidate who wishes to participate in the counselling of NEET MDS has to pay a non-refundable registration fee for the submission of choices and Refundable: During the registration process a candidate is also required to pay a part of the tuition fee. This will be refunded to the candidate if he/ she is not allocated a seat in the counselling process. Candidates do have to pay both fees during registration for NEET MDS counselling.

Q:   Will I be eligible to participate in the NEET MDS counselling if I do not qualify for the exam?
A: 

No, candidates have to qualify for NEET MDS to become eligible for NEET MDS counselling.  Candidates have to qualify for the NEET MDS exam with a minimum cutoff, which varies for each category. The minimum cutoff percentile for general category candidates is 50, while for SC/ST, the cutoff is 40th. Eligible candidates have to register on the official website, mcc.nic.in, to participate in the counselling for NEET MDS. Registration is followed by a choice declaration. Candidates can declare as many choices as they want to in order of their preferences.

Q:   Is registration mandatory to participate in NEET MDS counselling process?
A: 

Yes, candidates will have to do online registration to participate in the counselling process. Registration can be done on the official website, mcc.nic.in.   • Internship Completion Certificate (stating that the candidate has completed his/ her internship on or before June 30, 2024)
