Shiksha Survey Reveals 32% of Students Rely on Online Study Materials for PTET Preparation

As the PTET exam is just a couple of months away, this survey indicates that technology-driven learning is helping candidates shape their future exam preparation. This survey gives a clear picture that aspirants prefer online materials that are easily accessible, cost-effective, and affordable.
A survey conducted by the team at Shiksha.com has revealed staggering results. The survey conducted for students appearing for the PTET exam showcases a rising shift in the preparation strategy of candidates who are appearing for the Rajasthan PTET 2025 scheduled for June 15, 2025.
As per the survey, the majority of students prefer online study materials over traditional methods, with only 3 percent of students relying on coaching classes and close to 80 percent relying on digital content like videos, tutorials, online study materials, and past year question papers or mock tests. This survey gives a clear picture that aspirants prefer online materials that are easily accessible, cost-effective, and affordable.

According to the Shiksha survey:
- 32% of students rely on online study materials
- 27% prefer YouTube videos and tutorials
- 21% practice past year question papers
- 16% engage in group studies
- Only 3% depend on coaching classes
Students Going Digital
The survey reflects a major shift away from coaching institutes, with students favoring online resources due to affordability, flexibility, and accessibility. This digital shift can also be aligned with the current trends as the maximum time students refer to their smart devices, to search for events, and dates, download PDFs or question papers for the same, and also refer to the online materials and YouTube videos. This digital reliance provides cost-effective and self-paced learning options for students as a maximum of them are preparing simultaneously for another competitive exam, this makes preparation easy
