PTET 2026: PTET answer key is out now. Students can submit their objections from June 17 to June 19, 2026. The result will be out soon after the final answer key is released. 

The Rajasthan Pre-Teacher Education Test (PTET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted annually by the Government College in Rajasthan. Since 2024, it has been conducted by the Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota.

The purpose of the PTET exam is to shortlist candidates who aspire to become teachers. Candidates who qualify for the PTET exam are shortlisted for admission into the Bachelor of Education (BEd) programs offered by various teacher training institutions across the state of Rajasthan. About the Rajasthan PTET Exam 2026

PTET tests the eligibility of candidates for admission into the BEd courses. The BEd is a mandatory course to pursue a career in teaching at the secondary and higher secondary levels. PTET exam is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based) and a lot of candidates from the length and breadth of the state of Rajasthan appear for it every year. PTET Eligibility Criteria 2026

To apply for the Rajasthan PTET 2026, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements. They are required to complete their bachelor's or post-graduation with 50% marks for general categories from a recognized institute. Candidates belonging to the SC ST, OBC, categories must graduate with a minimum of 45% marks.

PTET Exam Pattern 2026

To qualify for the exam, it is advised to go through the PTET exam pattern in detail to understand the sections, topics, and marking scheme of the exam. As per the official notification, the exam consists of a single paper with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into four sections: 

  1. Mental Ability:  In this section, candidates will be tested based on questions about reasoning and problem-solving skills. This section will include questions on topics like reasoning, imagination, judgment, and decision-making. 
  2. Teaching Attitude and Aptitude Test:  In this section, candidates will be assessed based on their attitude towards teaching and their potential to become effective educators. In this section, the questions might be based on topics such as leadership, interpersonal relations, social maturity, and communication. 
  3. General Awareness:  This is also the high-scoring section for students who are aware of current affairs. In this section, the question will evaluate the candidate's knowledge of current events. The questions in this section may be based on Indian history, culture, geography, economy, and scientific advancements. 
  4. Language Proficiency (Hindi/English):  In this section, candidates will be tested in either Hindi or English competency. However, the language selection is based on their choice. This section will have questions about grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and sentence formation. 

PTET Marking Scheme 2026

The Rajasthan PTET consists of 200 questions, with each question carrying 3 marks. The total marks for the exam are 600. There is no negative marking, which allows candidates to attempt all questions without the fear of losing marks for incorrect answers. The marking scheme is mentioned below -

PTET Preparation Tips 2026

  1. Get Familiar with Syllabus and Format:  Candidates must familiarize themselves well in advance to know about the sections, topics, marking scheme, and subjects. This will help them plan their preparation schedule effectively.
