The JENPAS UG exam pattern 2025 will be released by the exam conducting body for the academic year 2026-27. The JENPAS UG exam pattern remains the same as the previous year. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is the official exam conducting body of the Joint Entrance Test for Nursing, Paramedical and Allied Sciences Undergraduate (JENPAS UG) 2025. They have not introduced any changes in the exam pattern this year. Candidates can refer to it in the official prospectus. Q:   How many papers are there in JENPAS (UG) Entrance Test?
A: 

JENPAS (UG)-2025 entrance test will consist of two papers namely, Paper-I (For all courses other than BHA) and Paper-II (For BHA only). Candidates will have to appear for both the exams. 

Q:   How many sections are there in the JENPAS UG entrance exam?
A: 

In JENPAS UG exam there will be five sections namely, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Basic English, and Logical Reasoning. In each section there will be 20 MCQs. Questions from the physics, chemistry, and biology section will be of 25 marks per section. Questions from English and LR will be of 20 marks per section. In all there will 100 questions of 115 marks.

Q:   Is JENPAS UG an easy or difficult entrance exam?
A: 

JENPAS UG is an offline (Pen & Paper Mode) entrance exam conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). As per the exam analysis conducted for the previous year exams, it is a moderately difficult exam. A good preparation strategy will help candidates appear for the exam without much difficulty. JENPAS UG is conducted for the duration of 1.5 hours each for 2 papers (each carries 50 questions). Candidates need to answer Multiple Choice Questions and the medium of the exam is both in English and Bengali language. 

Q:   Is JENPAS UG an online exam or offline exam?
A: 

JENPAS UG is an offline exam that carries Multiple Choice Questions (Objective-type), in which four options are provided in each question. The question paper is provided in both English and Bengali. Candidates are given 90 minutes to solve the paper. Each candidate gets 2 marks correct answer, and for each wrong answer, 0.5 marks will be deducted.

Q:   What is the JENPAS UG marking scheme?
A: 

There will be MCQs in the JENPAS UG exam. Each question will carry four options. Only one option will be correct. Correct response will yield 1 (one) mark for each question. The question paper will carry 100 questions of total 115 marks.

Q:   Who sets the JENPAS UG exam pattern?
A: 

JENPAS UG exam pattern is decided by the exam conductinb body, West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). When the official notification is released, WBJEEB releases an exam prospectus in which the JENPAS UG exam pattern gets elaborated for the applicants. In case of any changes in the JENPAS UG exam pattern, WBJEEB will mention about it, in the exam prospectus. 

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JENPAS UG exam?
A: 

In JENPAS UG entrance exam, there will be objective type questions. Candidates will be given MCQ-type questions with four options each. Out of the four options, only one option will be correct. In case the candidate choses the incorrect option, 0.25 mark (one-fourth mark) will be deducted. 

Q:   Will JENPAS UG exam be provided in Bengali language?
A: 

The JENPAS UG questions will be provided in both English and Bengali language (except Basic English and Logical Reasoning). Candidates will have to prepare for the exam accordingly.

All about the JENPAS UG Exam Pattern 2025

The JENPAS UG exam will have 100 objective-type questions. There will be four options against each question. The candidate will have to choose one correct option among the four choices. The UG level entrance exam will be conducted in pen and paper format (offline mode). A duration of 90 minutes (1.5 hours) will be allotted to attempt the exam.

JENPAS UG Marking Scheme 2025

As per the JENPAS UG marking scheme, a total of 115 marks will be divided among 100 questions. Further, there are two types of questions, Category I and Category II. Q:   What is the mode of answering question in the JENPAS UG entrance exam?
A: 

JENPAS UG entrance exam questions are to be answered on specially designed optical machine-readable response (OMR) sheet, which will be evaluated by Optical Mark Recognition method. Candidates will indicate response to the questions by darkening the appropriate circle/bubble completely with blue/black ink ballpoint pen.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in JENPAS UG exam?
A: 

No, there is no negative marking in JENPAS UG exam for category-II questions. In both paper I and paper II, there will be two categories of questions in the exam. The category-II questions will not attract any negative marking for the candidates. Salient features of category-II questions are: Candidates is free to choose one/more options. Not attempting the questions will lead to 0 marks. However, for Category I questions, - ¼ (25% negative) marks will be deducted for choosing incorrect options. 

Q:   Will I be able to change the responses once entered in the JENPAS UG OMR sheet?
A: 

Response marked in the JENPAS UG OMR sheet cannot be edited/changed/erased/modified. Filling the circle/bubble incompletely, filling with pencil, cross mark, tick mark, dot mark, circular mark, over writing, scratching, erasing, white ink, marking outside the circle/bubble etc. is not allowed to answer the questions.

The JENPAS UG exam has two papers- Paper I and Paper II. Each paper is of 115 marks. Candidates who are appearing for both papers need to obtain minimum 130 to 150 marks to pass the exam. However, those who obtain the cutoff are shortlisted for Counselling round.
