CSIR NET Exam Pattern Highlights

  • The exam will be conducted in two shifts – morning shift (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and evening shift (3:00 PM to 6:00 PM). Morning shift tests will be conducted for Life Science & Earth Science subjects and evening shift papers will be conducted for Mathematical Science, Physical Science & Chemical Science
  • There will be objective-type multiple choice questions (MCQs) in the exam. Number of questions will vary as per the subject chosen by a candidate
  • CSIR NET question paper for each subject will carry a weightage of 200 marks
  • There will be negative marking of 25 per cent against every wrong answer in the exam

Generally, the good score in the CSIR NET exam is considered as 120+ out of 200 for JRF General category candidates and for Lectureship 90 to 110 range. This can vary year to year.
