SSC JE paper-I 2019 is being conducted from September 23-27 at different test centres across India. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting Junior Engineer (JE) exam to recruit eligible candidates for Group-B posts in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts domains.

SSC JE paper-I pattern 2019       

SSC JE paper-I is an objective test of 200 marks. The exam is conducted in online mode as a computer-based test and contains total three sections (mentioned in the table below). Candidates need to complete the exam in a duration of two hours.

SSC JE paper-I 2019 analysis for General Intelligence and Reasoning

The General Intelligence and Reasoning section of SSC JE paper-I contained questions from both verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Some of the important topics from which reasoning questions were asked include analogies, matrix, Venn diagram, blood relations, series, mirror image, paper folding, word formation, distance, direction, odd one out, syllogism, and coding-decoding.    

Overall, the difficulty level of General Intelligence and Reasoning section was easy to moderate. Candidates can easily attempt 40-45 questions in this section.   

SSC JE paper-I 2019 analysis for General Awareness

Important topics from which questions were mainly asked in General Awareness section include history, sports, polity, economic scene, current affairs, Indian constitution, and general science.

The overall difficulty level of this section was moderate. Candidates can easily attempt over 35 questions in this section.   

SSC JE paper-I 2019 analysis for General Engineering

Some of the important SSC JE topics for Civil & Structural Engineering are solid mechanics, estimating, building material, costing & valuation, concrete technology, RCC design, irrigation engineering, environmental engineering, and transportation engineering.     

Some of the important SSC JE topics for Electrical Engineering are circuit law, synchronous machines, estimation & costing, basic electronics, magnetic circuit, and AC fundamentals.

Some of the important SSC JE topics for Mechanical Engineering are law of thermodynamics, air compressors & cycles, fluid kinematics, dynamics of ideal fluids, IC engines combustion, nozzles & steam turbines, and classification of steels.

The overall difficulty level of General Engineering section was of moderate to difficult. Candidates can attempt about 55-60 questions in this section.  

What after SSC JE paper-I?

Once paper-I concludes on September 27, the commission on December 29 will conduct SSC JE paper-II. The paper-II will be conducted in offline mode only for candidates who qualify paper-I. Date of declaration of SSC JE paper-I result has not been released yet.
