AFCAT 1 Paper Analysis 2023 & Student Reaction

Indian Air Force is conducting AFCAT 1 2023 exam to select Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. A total of 256 vacancies have been announced for the exam. AFCAT shift timings are 9.45 am to 11.45 am and 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm. According to the AFCAT 1 paper analysis 2023, the overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. The Verbal Ability in English was easy to moderate, General Awareness section was moderate, Numerical Ability section was moderate, Reasoning section was moderate and Military Aptitude Test section was moderate.

Questions in Reasoning were asked from Venn Diagram, Coding-Decoding, etc. In Maths, questions were asked from Probability, Average. In English, questions were asked from Passage, Error Detection, Fill in the Blanks, Rearrangement, Antonyms & Synonyms, etc.

AFCAT 1 2023 Paper Analysis for Shift 2

Shiksha reported live from one of the AFCAT exam centres in Delhi to gather the feedback of candidates regarding the difficulty level of the AFCAT exam. Read below to know the about the section-wise and overall difficulty level of the exam shared by students.

Amisha, who applied for the non-technical branch said, "The overall difficulty level of the paper was average. In Maths, questions were asked from average. In English, maximum questions were asked from vocabulary. In Reasoning, most of the questions were asked from figure-based topics. In GA, questions were asked from defence."

Gargi said, "The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. In Maths, questions were asked from Probabity, Mixture, Time and Distance, etc. There were good number of questions from current affairs in GA. English paper was easy and Reasoning was average."

Nivedita said, "I found the paper to be tough. The level of English was good. In Reasoning, questions were based on previous year's question paper but the level was high. The current affairs questions were based on recent events."

Most of the questions were based directly on Formulas and some were calculative. Questions were asked from Algebra, Train, Time & Work, Speed, Time & Distance, Pipe & Cistern, Average, SI/CI, Probability, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Ratio & Proportion and Mixture & Allegation.

Shalini Rawat said, “The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. In Quant, two questions were asked from Probability. In Reasoning questions were asked from Venn Diagram. In English, questions were asked from Passage, Error Detection, Fill in the Blanks, Rearrangement, Antonyms & Synonyms, etc. I have attempted 68 questions."

AFCAT Exam Pattern 2023

AFCAT exam pattern is such that it carries 100 questions from General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. The duration of the test is two hours. Total marks allotted to the paper are 300. This year, there is no EKT or Engineering Knowledge Test paper. This paper is conducted for the candidates who apply for the Technical branch.

AFCAT 1 cut off 2026 will be released in March. It is common across all categories. Candidates need to secure the required cut off to qualify the exam. It is decided based on the exam difficulty level.

AFCAT 1 2026 exam analysis will be released on January 31. This will be provided after the completion of the exam. They can refer to the same to check the level of the exam. They can also know the topics from where questions were asked in the exam.
