AFCAT exam day guidelines

Indian Air Force (IAF) will conduct AFCAT (2) 2020 exam amid COVID-19 pandemic. To ensure safety of candidates, IAF has issued certain exam day guidelines. Candidates need to follow AFCAT (2) 2020 exam day guidelines at the exam centres. Apart from this, the examination authority has also announced some other exam day instructions.

AFCAT (2) 2020 exam will be conducted online across various cities in the country on October 3, 4 and 5. In this article, we have discussed regarding AFCAT (2) exam day guidelines.

AFCAT (2) 2020 Exam Day Guidelines Due to COVID-19

Social Distancing measures will be implemented as per Government of India guidelines in view of the current scenario due to COVID-19. Candidates are required to adhere to the guidelines, ensure social distancing and hygiene at the AFCAT exam centre.

  • Standard Operating Procedure will be implemented for safety precautions and maintaining the required standard of hygiene.
  • Before starting of each shift and after the last shift, seating area will be thoroughly sanitiser such as monitor, keyboard, mouse, webcam, desk and chair, door handles, staircase railing, lift buttons will be disinfected.
  • Washrooms will be thoroughly disinfected
  • The trash bins will be emptied and disinfected
  • Ropes will be put outside the exam centre such that only 20 girls and 20 boys in the queue will be given entry at a time
  • Markings will be made on the floor to ensure that the candidates maintain social distancing while in queue
  • There will be a gap between two seats 
  • Rough sheets will be kept at all desks before start of exam by invigilators wearing gloves to ensure hygiene
  • Candidates need to reach centre as per the reporting time given in the AFCAT admit card to avoid any crowding and maintain social distancing

AFCAT (2) 2020 Exam Day Guidelines: General Instructions

  • Candidates are to report to the exam centre in batches i.e from 7.30 AM onwards for first shift and 12.30 pm onwards for second shift as per the time slot mentioned in the admit card
  • Frisking, capturing of biometrics, identification and inspection of admit card, ID proof, photograph, signature, etc will be done before the exam begins
  • Candidates need to bring admit card, Aadhaar Card, valid photo identity card (PAN card/passport/ driving licence/voter identity card/ college identity card or any other valid photo identity proof)
  • Candidates need to bring a ballpoint pen either black or blue in colour for signing in the attendance and rough sheet
  • Candidates need to occupy only the seat assigned to them
  • Electronic items such as calculators, docupen, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, cellular phone, memory card/ stick, blue tooth device, pager, organizer, personal digital assistant(PDA), concealed microphone or camera, radio, headset, walkman, recorder, translator etc. are not allowed
  • Book, paper, log tables, clipboard, slide rule, etc. are not allowed
  • Personal items such as ornaments, wallet, purse, wrist band, head gear, scarf, goggles, jacket, food, drinks etc. are not allowed
  • Candidate’s colour photograph will be taken during the verification process. They need to put the thumb impression on the admit card in advance and sign on the same in front of the invigilator
  • After the exam, candidates are required to write their names and roll numbers on the rough sheets and drop these in the designated boxes

AFCAT 1 2026 expected cut off will range between 135–145 marks. The expected cut off is decided based on the difficulty level.

AFCAT 1 cut off 2026 will be released in March. It is common across all categories. Candidates need to secure the required cut off to qualify the exam. It is decided based on the exam difficulty level.
