AFCAT 2 exam

Indian Air Force aspirants must be wondering about AFCAT 2 exam date 2020 will be postponed or not due to the pandemic situation. This is because many defence exams and interviews are postponed due to COVID-19. As per the trend, AFCAT 2 notification 2020 is released in June. The exam is conducted in August. If the lockdown is not extended till June, there are high chances of AFCAT 2 notification to be released or else it will be postponed. The Centre will announce the new guidelines for lockdown 4 before May 18. Post this, students will get a clear picture whether AFCAT 2 exam will be postponed or not.

On the other hand, Indian Air Force had postponed AFSB Interview for AFCAT 1 2020. The link to select the exam centre, date and call letter are blocked now due to the lockdown situation. This facility will be made available only after the completion of the lockdown.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible for the exam, candidates need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria.

Candidates must be a citizen of India.

  • For the Flying Branch, candidates should be between 20 to 24 years.
  • The age of candidates for the Ground branch is 20 to 26 years.
  • The educational qualification is different for a different posts. The basic educational qualification is graduation with 60%.

How to apply for the exam?

Interested candidates can fill and submit the application form online from the official website. The application fee which can be paid using the online payment gateway is Rs 250 for all categories. The application process comprises the following steps:

  • Registration for the exam
  • Filling the detailed application form
  • Pay the application fees
  • Submit the application form

What is the selection process?

The selection process comprises online test and AFSB Interview.

Online Test: All registered candidates are required to appear for the AFCAT online test. The EKT is conducted for candidates with one of the choices as Technical Branch. AFCAT comprises questions from General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. EKT comprises questions from Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical & Electronics. The maximum marks allotted to AFCAT are 300. The test paper of EKT carries a total of 150 marks. AFSB Interview: The interview comprises three stages. First stage being the Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and discussion test while the second stage is Psychological tests. For flying branch, candidates are required to appear in Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS).
