Seating Arrangement is an important topic in Reasoning section. At least two or three sets of Seating Arrangement questions will be asked in RRB NTPC exam. Questions in Seating Arrangement are linear-based, circular-based, square/rectangular-based, etc. With more and more practice candidates will be able to solve Seating Arrangement questions easily. What is Seating Arrangement?

Seating Arrangement is the logical arrangement of either objects or people in a logical manner. Solve the arrangement to answer the questions or decode the pre-defines arrangement by applying the logical analysis.

Types of Seating Arrangement

Discussed below in depth are the types of Seating Arrangements.

Linear Arrangement

RRB asks these types of questions in a single row or double row arrangement. Candidates need to check the directions of the people here.

Circular Arrangement

This is the arrangement of physical quantities in a circular manner. There are two types of circular arrangements: facing the centre and facing outwards. In Seating Arrangement facing the center, every object, or a person in the arrangement will be facing the centre of the circle. In Seating Arrangement facing outwards, every object, or a person in the arrangement will be facing outwards.

Square/Rectangular Arrangement

In this type of arrangement, the following types of questions are asked.

  • All people are facing towards the center
  • All the people are facing outside the center
  • Some people are facing inside while some are facing outside the center

How to solve Seating Arrangement questions?

The following tips and tricks should be kept in mind while solving Seating Arrangement questions.

  • Analyse and collect all the direct statements provided in the puzzle
  • Note down all the negative statements provided in the puzzle
  • Write all the information that you have gathered in a simplified form so that you do not have to look at the paragraph again and again
  • Make sure to draw different arrangements in advance

The final RRB NTPC post allotment depends on the CBT 1 and 2 scores, order of post preference, availability of vacancies in chosen zones. Candidates are required to enter their RRB NTPC post preferences while filling the application form. The eligibility attached to various posts are different.
