RRB NTPC Typing Test: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced RRB NTPC Typing Test dates for re-exam. The re-exam will be conducted on August 27. The first shift of RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test on August 12 was cancelled due to technical reasons. The re-exam of RRB NTPC typing test only for the candidates who were present and attended the test in the first shift will be held shortly. The link to view the exam city, date and download travel authority for SC/ST candidates was activated on August 19. The admit card for the re-exam has been released. RRB NTPC Typing test exam for the other shifts was conducted as per schedule on August 12.

RRB NTPC typing test is conducted for the posts of Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, and Senior Time Keeper. In RRB NTPC typing skill test, candidates are required to type atleast 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi. Candidates have to type in English or Hindi, as per the option exercised by them. Only candidates who qualify the CBT 2 are allowed to give the RRB NTPC typing skill test. Candidates eight times the number of vacancies for each of the community have been shortlisted for Typing Test based on the performance in RRB NTPC CBT 2.

RRB NTPC Typing Test Admit Card

RRB NTPC Typing Test admit card for re-exam has been released. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging with user ID and password. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. Candidates are required to carry their Aadhaar Cards to the exam centre for Aadhaar enabled biometric verification.

RRB NTPC Typing Test City Intimation Slip

RRB NTPC Typing Test city intimation slip was released. The city intimation displays the name of the exam city where candidates were allotted exam centre. Candidates were required to make their travel arrangements accordingly to reach to the exam centre. The admit card also carried the google map link through which candidates could locate their RRB NTPC exam centres.

RRB NTPC Typing Test Exam Pattern 2022

The exam pattern of RRB NTPC typing test is given below:

  • RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test is of qualifying nature and candidates who manage to acquire minimum NTPC typing speed in the test will be considered in the final merit list
  • The merit will be drawn for RRB NTPC 2022 only for the candidates qualified in the RRB NTPC Typing Test or NTPC Typing Test exempted PwBD candidates based on performance in CBT 2
  • The required qualifying speed for the typing test for RRB NTPC is 25 words per minute in Hindi or 30 words per minute in English. The candidates are required to attempt the test either in English or in Hindi.
  • The duration of the test is 10 minutes. If a candidate does not qualify for the NTPC typing speed, then they will be considered unsuccessful in NTPC Typing Test and he/she will not be considered further irrespective of the marks obtained by him/her in the CBT
  • Candidates will have to use their own Typewriting Machine (key punching type) of either Hindi or English and the recruitment board will not provide any Typewriting machine whatever the reason. If the typewriter machine brought by the candidate develops any snag or fails during the test, no extra time or alternative arrangement, whatsoever, shall be made by RRB.
  • 5 per cent mistakes of the total words typed will be ignored and thereafter for every full or half mistake, corresponding words will be deducted from the total words typed for arriving at the final NTPC typing speed of the candidate
  • Candidates are not allowed to use editing tools or spell check facility during RRB NTPC Typing Test
  • Exemption in RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test is extended to candidates who are permanently disabled due to Blindness/Low Vision, Cerebral Palsy & Loco Motor Disability with not less than 40 per cent permanent disability on production of valid documents

RRB NTPC Typing Test Important Points

RRB NTPC typing skill test details released by the examination authority are given below.

  • The candidates are required to type at least 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi
  • The candidates will have to type in English or Hindi, as per option exercised by them on RRB websites. English will be the Typing Language for those who have not exercised their option Candidates who have opted Hindi for Typing Test must be familiar with the usage of Krutidev or Mangal font
  • The exam session consists of three parts as Typing practice for one minute to warm up & familiarize with key board, Break of 30 seconds and Typing Test for 10 minutes which will be taken for evaluation
  • As the skill test is to determine the speed, candidates who have completed the passage can retype passage from the beginning within the duration of test i.e. 10 minutes. Candidates who do not type the whole passage at least once in 10 minutes will be treated as disqualified. The transcripts of those candidates who do not type 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi within the prescribed time will not be evaluated

RRB NTPC Typing Test 2022 Evaluation Process

The evaluation process of RRB NTPC Typing Test is given below:

  • The evaluation of the passage typed by the candidate will be done as follows:
  • The mistakes will be classified as full mistakes and half mistakes. 5% mistakes of the total words typed may be ignored. Accordingly, the total number of mistakes will be calculated as under:
  1. of full mistakes + No. of half mistakes/2 = Total Mistakes
  2. Number of mistakes – 5% of total number of words typed = Final count of mistakes
  • The typing speed of the candidate will be worked out by the following formula:
  1. RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test Speed= No. of total words typed – (Final count of mistake x 10)/Time
  • For example: If a candidate types a total number of 400 words in 10 minutes and commits 10 final count of mistakes, his speed would be worked out as follows:
  1. 400-(10x10)/10= 300/10 = 30 w.p.m
  • The minimum speed should be 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Hindi

The RRB NTPC 2026 Graduate posts difficulty level in general is considered a Moderate. The CBT 1 is basically Easy to Moderate where as CBT 2 is Moderate to Tough due to the level of the questions asked which are advanced and analytical.
