What is Delhi Police SI Exam?
Delhi Police SI exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) through a national-level SSC Central Police Organisation exam. Sub-Inspector or SI is a mid-level officer in the Delhi Police Force responsible for maintaining the law and order, supervising the Junior Staff, investigating crimes, and performing various administrative and operational duties within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

SSC CPO eligibility criteria are certain parameters which candidates need to fulfill inorder to apply for the exam. The eligibility criteria comprises several parameters such as age, nationality and educational qualification. SSC CPO eligibility criteria is given below:
Nationality:
- Other than the Indian nationals, the following candidates can apply
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan having a certificate in the favour of their category issued by the Indian Government
- Candidates, in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary are admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment is given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to them by the Government of India
Age Limit: The age of candidates should be between 20 and 25 years. Candidates must have been born not before 02.01.1997 and not later than 01.01.2002. Relaxation in the upper age limit of five years is provided to SC/ST candidates and three years to OBC and Ex-Servicemen categories.
Educational Qualification: Any graduate candidate can apply for the SSC CPO exam.

Paper 2 & PST/PET
In 2021, a total of 4754 candidates had qualified the exam wherein 433 are male candidates and 4321 are female candidates. A total of 11,164 candidates had appeared for PET/PST, out of which 5572 candidates were declared qualified for the Paper-II exam. In 2020, out of the total 4754 appeared candidates, a total of 3060 candidates (338 Female and 2722 Male) have been shortlisted for document verification.

SSC CPO educational qualification is given below.
- Educational Qualification for all posts is a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent.
- The programs in Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Physiotherapy, etc. are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode.
- Candidates who have not acquired the educational qualification will not be eligible and need not apply.
- For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) - Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.

It is mandatory to fill Delhi Police SI application form. The registration involves entering personal, educational, and contact details and creating a password. After submitting, candidates receive a Registration Number and an auto-generated password via their email and phone. |
Filling the application form |
After completing the registration, candidates must log in using their Registration Number and updated password. They should go to the “Apply” section and click on “Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs Examination 2025.” Personal details from the registration will be auto-filled in the form. Candidates must enter the educational qualifications, category details, and choose three exam centres in order of. They need to answer questions related to Ex-Servicemen status, NCC certificate, and whether they are departmental candidates or not. |

Delhi Police SI Selection Process
Delhi police SI selection process comprises Paper 1, Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test, Paper 2 and Detailed Medical Exam.
Paper 1 Exam
It is a computer-based exam divided into four sections. Total marks allotted to the test are 200. The duration is 2 hours.
PET/PST
This is qualifying in nature where candidates are measured in terms of physical standards such as height, chest (for men), and weight. In PET, candidates are judged based on certain endurance tasks such as races and jumps. The physical standards differ slightly for men and women. It is mandatory to qualify the test.
Paper 2 Exam
Paper 2 carries questions from English language and comprehension. This computer-based exam are carries 200 questions. Duration of the test is two hours. The paper tests grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, and comprehension skills.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
This is the final stage of selection process. Candidates are assessed based on the medical fitness standards such as eyesight, overall health, physical defects, etc. Those found unfit can appear for a re-examination. However, the final decision rests with the medical board.
