Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or CUET PG is for admission to all PG programmes in Central and participating Universities. Read here to know the CUET PG course list.
CUET PG is a national entrance exam for admission to many postgraduate courses in Central and other universities. The application fee for CUET PG 2026 will be higher for all categories, so students should check the official notice and learn how to fill out the form. The whole process is online. You need to upload scanned photos and documents, pay the fee online, and print the confirmation page and admit card.
Do not send any documents to NTA by post, fax, WhatsApp, email, or by hand. The exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) held on different days and shifts. The NTA will manage registration, conduct the test, release answer keys, and declare results. Universities will prepare the merit list based on scores.

Commonly asked questions
The difficulty level of the CUET exam varies between moderate and tough. Since the CUET UG exam is held for multiple subjects and slots, the difficulty level of the exam varies from subject to subject. Sometimes, the difficulty level may also vary for different slots. While for the well-prepared candidates, the difficulty level will be low, for the underprepared students, the level of difficulty will be on the higher side.
On analysing the CUET UG cut off for the academic year 2025-26, scoring above 700 marks can be considered a good score in CUET UG. Candidates scoring above 700 may fall in the category of 95+ percentile. Candidates can get admission to top central universities like University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and other universities in the desired course. Given below is the range that is considered good for admission:
- Very Good Score: 700 and above
- Good Score: 650 and above
To prepare well for the CUET UG and board examinations, candidates must:
- Start their preparations for CUET UG along with class 12th board examination. This will help students to cover the maximum syllabus for CUET.
- Candidates must make sure to be familiar with the CUET exam pattern and syllabus for the subjects they are planning to opt for.
- Candidates must know weak and strong topics by solving CUET mock tests or previous year question papers.
- Students must make sure to download the CUET question papers and analyse difficulty level of the exam
- Aspirants must select the best books for CUET UG preparation.
More than 200 CUET participating universities, including central, state, government, private, and deemed institutes offer admission to various undergraduate and integrated courses through Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG). Each CUET college offers the courses across Science, Humanities, Commerce, Management, Law, Engineering, and other streams. Students planning to get admission through CUET exam have to check the courses offered by their target university on their official website, NTA official website, or at Shiksha page.
CUET PG Question Paper Structure
Applicants can check the CUET PG 2026 exam pattern mentioned below, which will help them to prepare in a better way before appearing in the exam.
- Candidates can choose a maximum of four question paper codes from the list mentioned above.
- The duration of the CUET PG exam will be 90 Minutes.
- The Question paper will have 75 Questions.
- Language papers will be in the concerned language, except Linguistics, which would be in English.
- M.Tech/Higher Sciences would be in English only.
- Acharya Papers would be in Sanskrit except for Hindu Studies, Indian Knowledge System and Baudha Darshan.
- Humanities, Sciences and Common papers would be bilingual (English & Hindi).
- The CUET PG syllabus for the question paper codes are available on the exam website.
CUET PG 2026 Marking Scheme
4 will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
No marks will be calculated for those questions which are left unanswered.
In case a question is dropped/omitted due to any technical error, then full marks will be given to everyone irrespective of the fact who has attempted it or not.
The CUET PG syllabus 2026 will be the same as the graduation level, and candidates can expect some questions with a higher analytical and practical approach.
NTA provide extra option to students to download their documents through Umang and DigiLocker. They can get their Confirmation Page, Admit Card, Score Card, and other documents from these platforms. They should go to the NTA portal often and check their emails regularly for new updates.
