AMU Admissions 2026: Eligibility, Courses, Entrance Exam, Cutoff

Aligarh Muslim University offers a four-year full-time BTech course at the undergraduate level. AMU offers BTech across ten specialisations including Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, CSE, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, among others. AMU conducts Aligarh Muslim University Engineering Entrance Examination (AMUEEE) for BTech admission and it is not very tough for candidates already appeared for JEE Mains. Students who have prepared well for the board examination or JEE Mains can easily crack the AMU entrance test for BTech admission. 

Yes, Aligarh Muslim University admission to most of the courses is based on CUET scores. Admission to AMU undergraduate courses including  BSc (Hons.) Community Science, BA (Hons/Research), BVoc in Production Technology, Polymer and Coating Technology and Fashion Design & Garment Technology and BSc (Hons/Research) is completely based on valid Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) scores. From the academic session 2022, all the central universities along with a few state-deemed universities and private universities started accepting CUET scores for admission to their UG and PG courses.

STEP 1: Registration

Visit AMU's official website to register for counselling. The payment for admission may also be had to be paid on the same portal. 

STEP 2: Provisional Admission

After counselling, provisional admission shall be granted to the shortlisted candidates. 

STEP 3: Document Verification & Physical Reporting

After selection, candidates have to report physically at the university and submit a list of documents. Candidates must carry original documents.

Aligarh Muslim University BTech admission is based on AMUEEE. This process can only be conducted in online mode. Following the entrance exam, candidates must register for the AMUEEE counselling. Candidates who secure the cut-off ranks decided by the university for various counselling rounds will be allotted seats for BTech at the university.

For undergraduate admission to courses, including BA (Hons), BVoc and BSc (Hons) through CUET-UG, candidates must have a valid CUET-UG score. For BA (Hons) admission, candidates must have to attempt the Domain/ General/ Languages sections of CUET while appearing for the entrance test along with the minimum eligibility criteria set by AMU. Final selection for most of the UG and PG courses via CUET is based on candidates' performance in the counselling round. Talking about the minimum eligibility requirement for AMU UG courses, candidates must have passed the Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Aligarh Muslim University offers a wide range of courses at the UG, PG and PhD levels. AMU courses are being offered under AMU's 13 faculties, including Agricultural Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Engineering & Technology and Law, among others. At the undergraduate level, the University offers BSc (Hons), BA (Hons), MBBS, BE/ BTech, BVA, BCom (Hons), BArch, BVoc and BSc Nursing, among others. The Aligarh Muslim University only accepts AMUEEE scores for admission to the BTech course. The AMUEEE is private- engineering exam with a very high volume of applicants every year which means th competition level among students is also very high. 

For admission to AMU BTech, the candidates need to prepare and perform extremely well in the AMUEE.

• The candidates should check the official AMUEEE syllabus 2024 and know the details regarding the topics that will be covered in the entrance exam.  
• Aspirants are advised to become familiar with their official AMUEEE 2024 exam pattern.
• Aspirants are advised to customise timetable as per their aptitude. The entire syllabus should be wisely divided so that all of the topics are covered before the examination with ample time for revision. Candidates should also allot enough time for regular revision and mock tests.

AMU MBBS cutoff 2025 is based on NEET scores and finally on NEET Counselling. NEET 2025 Counselling has been released up to Round 4. The university also offers BDS courses.. AMU Medical cutoff for NEET UG Last Round seat allotment was 121762 for MBBS and 38852 for BDS for the General category candidates belonging to All India Quota. During AMUEEE registration, candidates will have to pay the fee through net banking/credit card/debit card. The AMUEEE application fee is INR 1000. Offline payments will not be accepted. The late fee is INR 1300.

The Aligarh Muslim University conducts AMU entrance exam to shortlist candidates for admission to various courses. The AMUEE application process is conducted online on the official website if the University. Aspirants need to pay AMU application fee to confirm their application submission.

AMU CUET Counselling registration process is carried out in online mode. Only the students shortlisted or selected are eligible to register for counselling. Eligible students can visit the AMU official website (amucontrollerexams.com or counselling.amuonline.ac.in) to apply with CUET rank for the desired programme. During registration, a login ID and password is generated for further procedure. The registration fee for the same is made available on the official website.

AMU BA tuition fee ranges between INR 25,500 and INR 40,500. The exact amount depends on the choice of specialisation. The other components included in total AMU fees are hostel fees, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc. It must be noted that the mentioned fee has been sourced from the official website/sanctioning body. AMU Medical cutoff for NEET UG Round 1 seat allotment 2023 was 3304 for MBBS and 29688 for BDS for the General category candidates belonging to All India Quota. According to cutoff 2022 MBBS closed at 3028 for Round 1 and for 2021, it closed at 3162. In case of BDS cutoff 2022 BDS closed at 27586 for Round 1 and for 2021, it closed at 22147. Hence going as per the last three year cutoff ranks for NEET UG Round 1 Seat Allotment closing ranks, candidates can expect MBBS cutoff to range between 3028 and 3304.
