To combat the issues related to Delhi University admissions, students can prepare a strong portfolio, score well in CUET, and indulge in various extracurricular activities. Prior preparation can help students to successfully move ahead Delhi University application process.

Let's look at the ways to strengthen the DU application beyond just marks:

  • Score Well in CUET: Delhi University CUET preparation tips must be followed to secure good scores in the CUET exams. Students must focus on the General Aptitude Test, Language, and Domain Subject, which form the structure of the CUET. Many DU colleges focus on the CUET scores and give less value to the Class 12th scores.
  • Construct a strong extracurricular profile: Out of the total seats in DU, some seats are reserved for students applying through the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) Quota and Sports Quota. 5% of the seats are reserved under this Quota. There are 14 ECA categories this year. Students must submit all the documents for an easy online application procedure.
  • Draft a Statement of Purpose in advance: While not all DU colleges ask for this information, this is necessary for some course admissions and for some special students, such as foreign students. The SOP helps the university to know the reasons for students' interest in a particular course/college. This gives a bonus point to students opting for some special courses.
  • Internship or Volunteer Work in Relevant Field: For some University of Delhi course admissions, students need to appear for the interview round. Having volunteer work in a relevant field and prior experience working in favour of the applicant. There can be bonus points given to the applicant if he/she has worked in popular NGOs, business houses, and others
  • Submit the Olympiads and National-Level Competitions' Certificates: Having won any Olympiads and national-level competitions helps the university/college get accustomed to the students' qualities and skills, such as Time Management, Logical Reasoning, Problem-Solving Skills, and others.
  • Seek Clarity When in Need: DU has an admission help desk, which has facilities such as email, chatbot, helpdesk numbers, and others to support students.

DU Admission 2025: Concerns Addressed

  • Not every DU College cutoff is high. Some colleges, such as Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening), Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Ramjas College, Kamala Nehru College, Maitreyi College, Ramanujan College, Lakshmibai College, and others, have comparatively low cut-offs. Go for off-campus colleges instead of going for the North or South Campus Colleges.
  • Seek clarity in the DU admission, wherever required and possible. Visit the Admission Helpdesk or join student portals, forums, and others. Students can also visit Shiksha.com for complete information
  • Search for vacant seats, as some students may leave their seats and shift to other colleges. Also, if a student is into sports or extracurricular activities, look for the Sports Quota and ECA Quota seats.
  •  Getting into a college of choice is too tough in the world of competition; hence, it is advised that a student must keep his/her options open and always prepare for Plan B.
