BHU MBBS Courses & Fees 2025: NEET, Dates, Eligibility, Fee, Ranking, Application

The total number of seats available for MBBS is 100 in the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU. Some of the seats might be only for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Yes, the BHU CUET counselling process for both UG and PG courses is carried out in online mode. Candidates have to visit the BHU admission portal to register for the counselling process. The form filling, document upload, and fee payment also has to be done in online mode. Fee payment can be done through credit card/debit card/net banking. 

The hostel fee structure for BHU is INR 3,000 - INR 4,000 per semester depending upon the degree. The hostel fee does not include mess charges. Banaras Hindu University is spread across a 1,300-acre campus. There are 41 hostels for boys and 21 for girls. Additionally, there is separate accommodation for international students. All the hostels have basic amenities like water purifiers, a common room, recreation room, mess, TV, laundry services, security and surveillance system, etc.

M.D. cutoff is based on NEET PG scores for admission to the MD and MS courses. As per NEET PG cutoff the Round 1 closing ranks for top courses including MD in Radiodiagnosis closed at 159 and MD in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy closed at 388 for the General category All India candidates. Also, NEET PG was concluded after the release of the Round 5 Seat Allotment. BHU accepts CUET scores for admission to UG and PG courses. The admissions are over within few weeks of CUET counselling. CUET-PG is usually held in March whereas CUET-UG takes place in May. Students must check the complete schedule for exact dates. CUET applications for the coming year will begin in February and continue till April. 

BHU has become more vibrant and inclusive since the time co-education was introduced in its Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Arts. While the IIT-BHU still has a more conservative culture, BHU offers its students more freedom and facilities.

Students are free to eat at any mess of their hostel. The cost of a general diet is INR 40 - 45 per day. The cost of a special diet (served twice a week) is INR 50 - 90 per day. Students with friends at IIT have access to higher quality food.

BHU is the largest residential university in Asia, with over 70 hostels. Students ranked under 300 - 400 are easily inducted into hostels.

BHU cutoff 2025 was released for multiple specialisations. Based on the last round cutoff, the closing ranks varied between 1489 and 14447 for the General AI quota. So, if you belong to the General category, you must target to secure JEE Advanced cutoff rank of up to 14447 or below to secure a seat at IIT BHU for BTech admission. For top branches like CSE and Mathematics and Computing, the maximum required cutoff ranks for admission were 1489 and 1924 in the last round.

BHU BSc (H) admission is strictly entrance-based. Earlier, admission was through BHU-UET, however, now the students need to take the CUET-UG exam. Yes, Banaras Hindu University accept CUET score for multiple UG courses, including BA (Hons), BCom (Hons) BSc (Hons), etc. The university is also offering admission to its PG courses based on merit in CUET-PG. Aspirants who meet the eligibility requirements can register on the BHU admission portal for counselling. The admission is done in order of merit based on the normalised score of the CUET (PG) and reservation policy as per the provisions laid down in the BHU PET Information Brochure.

Any caste, region, religion students can apply for admission to various courses at BHU. Any caste student must fulfill the eligibility criteria and take admission. While selection process, students are not judged basis their religion, they are judged based on their merit. Hence, any student meeting the eligibility criteria can get admission in BHU. BHU does not descriminate people on any basis.

Banaras Hindu University offers traditional courses, such as Sanskrit and Philosophy. Candidates can pursue courses at UG, PG and diploma levels. BHU was the first university in India to offer modern and traditional subjects. Students can pursue programmes from modern subjects, such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 

BHU BSc Nursing cutoff 2025 was 45932 for the General AI category students in the first round. For the OBC AI category, the first round cutoff rank was 56465. This difference in the ranks suggests that the competition for the General AI category is higher than the OBC AI category for the MBBS course.

Whether you can get BHU for the BAMS course based on the AYUSH results would depend entirely on the category you belong to. For the General and OBC AI categories, the last round cutoff was 30748 and 32844, respectively. Hence, admissions with a rank of 70K are not possible for these categories.

On the other hand, for the SC AI category, the last round cutoff was 148564. There admissions could be possible with a rank of 70K. 

BHU offers entrance-based admissions to all its UG and PG courses. To get admission to any UG and PG courses, it is compulsory to appear for the CUET-UG/ CUET-PG entrance exams. Further, the university also accepts other entrance exam such as NEET, GATE, CAT, etc. for admission to specific courses. Hence, candidates are required to appear for the accepted entrance-exam and also meet the course-specific eligibility for admission at BHU.

BHU CAP UG registrations 2026 The registeration for the BHU counselling process is now closed correction window is open till 30, 2026 .Seat allotment dates are yet to be released but it will tentatively start during the second week of August.

The required score would depend on the category, course and round. The BHU cutoff 2026 was released for the 4th  round for admission to several PG-level courses. The cutoff was out for different AI quota categories. 

For the General AI category, the round 4 cutoff ranged from 6 to 260. Hence, students who have a score of at least 6 could gain admission at BHU in the third round.
